I drink Flying dog Gonzon porter often, im used to their signature : The hop/grapefruit aromatics are so similar in this IPA ,take away the huge roast malt profile from the Gonzo porter and its SO damn similar. Toasty caramel ,oily ,resiny waterfalls.........WAy enjoyable IPA

Draft into a standard pint glass @ Prohibition Taproom. Poured a light amber with a small, one-finger head. Lacing was thin but lasting. Not a great deal of carbonation was visible. Nose was citrus (grapefruit) and pine. Taste - citrus and pine and relatively sweet malts underneath. There is some bitterness fighting with the sweetness. Mouthfeel is lighter than many IPAs (watery?). I found this an OK IPA but without much to set it apart. It wasnt awful but not terribly interesting either.

Bottled 355ml. -Courteso of and shared with Doggythedog who brought it from Budapest (thanks!) Golden/orange coloured, small off-white head, citric hoppy nose. Very aromatic hoppy and fruity taste with fresh and aromatic finish. Nice IPA.

Nice slightly hazy copper coloured body with a thin tan head. Very potent dry hopped aroma with a hint of malt and a lot of apricots. Medium-bodied; Strong assertive hop flavours come out with grapefruit and pine noticeable and a good malt backbone. Aftertaste shows hints of dryness and some mild sugars, but the overwhelming finish is a dry hoppy grapefruity bitterness - very nice indeed! Overall, a good beer and better than I remember the older version - definitely worth trying and having as a reliable IPA! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle after a hockey game on 11-May-2010 in Arlington, Virginia.

yellow with large white head. huge bitterness followed by a nice herbal and spicy hop flavor. very little malt character before a dry finish. overall, very nice hop flavor but too much bitterness. otherwise would be a nice ipa

Pours a shimmering amber with a frothy off-white head. Smells of oranges, pineapple, the ocean, burnt plastic. Has a sour bitterness to the flavor that seems to grab the taste buds and twist, ... sap and dirt. A more aggressive IPA than I prefer (not in terms of the amount of hops, but the type). It almost burns a little. Perhaps even a little mushroom?

Bottle from the great Csak A Jo Sr, Budapest, shared with ogivlado. Poured a murky orange-gold body with a slightly off white head. Sweet malty orangey nose, nice aroma hops. Light aromatic hoppy taste with distinct bitterness, orange again. Not all that much body and maltiness but very, very nice hopinesss that pulls it through. Very drinkable!

Quite impressed with this beer. It pours up with a nice fine foam and is quite effervescent. The taste is fairly smooth with a nice soft bite at the end. Its not too strong like lots of IPAs tend to be.
