Why is there only one time of year – as goblins, ghouls, and ghosts frolic on front lawns – when we embrace THE FEAR? At all other times, THE FEAR dominates us, controls us, and prevents us from greatness. What is there to THE FEAR? Disagreement? Criticism? Humiliation? Whatever THE FEAR is that consumes you, embrace it, along with this Imperial Pumpkin Ale. Only then will the true artist in you rise up.

UPDATED: NOV 26, 2014 Tap at the Rake, deep dark red-black with a thin head and aromas of pumpkin pie and toasted caramel. Palate is initially toasty-dry, with an interesting juxtaposition of sweet caramel, vegetal bitterness and a burnt-bitter edge.

weordie (1401) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - NOV 21, 2014
Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of cinnamon and apples. A good pleasant taste of pumpkin, spices, a little toffee and some vanilla notes. Possibly the best pumpkin ale I’ve had.

Bottle pour. Nice strong off white head. Molasses and cinnamon mostly on the tongue. Smells almost like cola

tania_nexust (239) - Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 8, 2014
Draught keg at Tap East. Some roast and spice aroma, with subtle spice & fruit flavours finishing on a chocolatey note. Really nicely subtle, not too sweet or overdone flavours.

Bottle pours a dark ruby ale with an off white head. Aroma, pumpkin, molasses, aniseed and cinnamon. Taste, has a spicy element with cloves, pumpkin and a full bitter finish.

355ml Bottle from Good Spirits Co, Glasgow (£4.40):
Another fairly enjoyable Flying Dog effort that was by no means the brewery’s best beer but a good one nonetheless, particularly because it was such a big, well flavoured beer that was very nice to sit and sip away at. Perhaps the alcohol content could have been better hidden but it didn’t take much away from the taste and it was well worth trying without truly exciting.
