3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark brown with a thin off-white head. Aroma is of spritzy pumpkin-pie spices... and bubblegum... a lot! The bg is there in the taste too, but it’s more an earthy, boozy, astringent spice beverage. $2/12oz
Bottle present from mr_h. Very dark brown, big beige head. Toffee vegetable aroma. Strong treacle pumpkin flavour. Sweet but sharp aftertaste with hot chilli kick. Interesting but not my thing. edgallow (4211) - nashville, Tennessee, USA - MAR 8, 2017

Bottle. dark brown with a small head. Spiciness dominated.Fulll bodied yet so easy to drink.. I always think of pumkin beers as being a bit of a novelty but this one would stand up in any company. wyldeturkey101 (148) - - DEC 21, 2016
this beer gives me the fear, that i wont have another pumpkin ale as god as this again. now that i have my pun out of the way i can get on with the rest of this.the aroma is greatly potent with pumpkin and a bit spicy. the flavour mostly adopts all the elements from the aroma but ads a bit of cakeyness to the texture. the beer pours into a deep dark body with a creamy head that simmers down quickly but stays for a good duration in its simmered state. really enjoyed this beer and will be on the look out for it from now on.

Creamy beige head left a decent cover on an opaque near black still body.
Sweet aroma with pumpkin.
Well bodied, smooth, velvet like, carbonated on the back & slightly cloying.
Bitter on the front with coffee, dark chocolate & maybe hints of aniseed. This is followed by a sweeter aft of brown sugar, pumpkin, raisins, plum, cinnamon, spice, - almost Christmassy & lots more going on as it warms up. jflopsu (1614) - New Jersey, USA - OCT 27, 2016
Pours a dark brown with tan head. A strong pumpkin, cinnamon, and spice aroma. A sweet malt, pumpkin, cinnamon, and spice taste with some caramel and alcohol flavors. A cinnamon and spice aftertaste. superspak (5597) - Michigan, USA - OCT 23, 2016
12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 1/8/2017. Pours crystal clear very dark brown color with a 2 finger dense and rocky khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, ginger, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted biscuit, light chocolate/vanilla, and herbal/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of pumpkin/spices and dark/bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, ginger, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted biscuit, light chocolate/vanilla, and herbal/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate pine/herbal/spice bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, ginger, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toasted biscuit, light chocolate/vanilla, and herbal/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of pumpkin/spices and dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Light dryness from bitter/spiciness, lightly increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready, and lightly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is a great imperial pumpkin ale! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of pumpkin/spices and dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the big ABV. A very enjoyable offering. tia (2226) - Sandston, Virginia, USA - OCT 13, 2016
Tap @ Jack Brown’s. Brown with oatmeal head. My first sniff and sip gave me the impression that it was thin and lightly spiced and had a little chorine whiff. However, it grew on me as it warmed and I drank it. It ended up being a little fuller an more robust and dry without being overly spiced. Not bad for a pumpkin beer. Pumpkin87 (248) - - OCT 9, 2016
Pours brown with pronounced red highlights and a small-medium tan head that doesn’t leave a lot of lacing but retains well as nice-looking skim.
Pumpkin pie aroma, whiff of vanilla and spice. Very creamy mouthfeel is the highlight here, at times balancing the aggressively earthy hops, toast and significant spicing. At other times, it’s a burnt pumpkin pie.
That aggressive approach catches up on the finish, which is quite sharp and leaves a bitter aftertaste.
