COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
You are holding the inaugural release in a multi-year brewing experiment-to brew a series of beers as diverse as the great state of New Jersey. Our theme is the state-long artery that connects us. Each beer will focus on the unique aspect of an individual exit, whether an ingredient or event. The journey begins at Exit 4- right up the street from the Flying Fish brewery. As one of the first craft brewers to embrace Belgian-style beers, weve chosen to start with a Belgian trippel, finished with plenty of American hops. Note the hazy golden hue and the aroma of citrus with hints of banana and clove. Then taste the Belgian malt flavors and a subdued bitterness in the finish. Bottle conditioned, this beer will develop as it ages. Enjoy.

Malts: Malto Franco-Belge Pils Malt, Weyerman Acidulated, White Wheat, Demerara Sugar
Hops: Simcoe, Columbus, Palisades, Amarillo
Yeast: Belgian Abbey
Original Gravity: 21.5 Plato

MullMan (1099) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - AUG 1, 2009
Mostly clear bright golden body, medium tall sudsy creamy white head. aroma is fresh grapefruit rind, hoppy for a tripel. also a lkittle sweaty/pissy/yeasty. maybe a little dried tropical fruit in the aroma too. flavor starts caramel malty sweet, a little spicy like white pepper, dried pineapple chunks and grapefruit sections with rind. some earthy yeast and then very dry/astringent hop bitterness. a little boozy/herbal/ginny in the aftertaste.

Bottle (BB Jan 10, 2018). Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is medium yellow. Aroma is moderately malty (grain), moderately yeasty (basement), with notes of banana and cement. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately to heavily bitter. Medium to full body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Highly phenolic, simplistic, and pretty clunky.

12 ounce bottle. Bright amber orange pour is topped by a small creamy hire head that leaves nice clinging lace. Faint fruity citrus malt nose. First sip is bittersweet malt with subtle banana and apricot notes. Warming alcohol in middle. Dry wheat malt and brown sugar notes in finish. Light bitter hop aftertaste.

Draught & Shannon Rose. Clear golden with small foamy whitish head, faint malt aroma, high carbonation, slightly sweet malty taste with light bitterness and Belgian yeast profile, alcohol undertones, smooth body, abrupt malty finish. Very smooth and easy to drink.

12 ounce bottle. Astonishing. probable the best Trippel I have had that was not Belgian. It should be better on tap, right? Where is that bar? The aroma and palate- mouthfeel stood out the most to me.

Bottle. Golden body with a large, lasting white head. Aroma of grapefruit, citrus, clove, pineapple, floral hops. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, syrupy texture, lively carbonation. Sweet with clove, banana, citrus flavors. Yet theres a hop bitterness that lingers. Not a classic tripel, by far. Just OK.

Bottle from Total Wine, Gainesville. Pours clear gold with a small white head. Aroma of floral hops, citrus peel, banana, bubblegum. Flavor is bubblegum, yeast, syrup, sweet banana, clove, sugar. A bit on the sweet side, but not bad.

AirForceHops (7129) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - AUG 27, 2016
12 oz. bottle with a best by date of 6/20/2017. Clear in color gold within lasting head in a chalice. Aroma is sugar, honey, and weak yeast.

Flavor shows a sweetness from sugar and yeast. Carbonation gives a mild effervescent feel over the pilot. Flavor and aroma run hand in hand. Doesnt have the huge yeast character that a Belgian would have. It is ok.

A beer that tastes of clove and banana, your usual Belgian yeast flavors, a bit of spiciness. Could use a hint more carbonation if you ask me. Overall, a decent tripel. Not great, but certainly worth drinking again for the price. Best New Jersey beer Ive had.

3.7
jflopsu (1588) - New Jersey, USA - APR 16, 2016
Pours a clear gold. Has a citrus, what and yeast aroma. A strong citrus, wheat, yeast, and sweet candy taste. A sweet and yeast aftertaste.
