COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer was inspired by the Beers Made By Walking Project. Along with friends from the Pinelands Preservation Alliance and NJ Conservation Foundation, we hiked through Pinelands National Reserve to bring you this medium bodied Saison. Herbal flavor and notes of foraged pine needles, goldenrod and wintergreen, blend perfectly with the peppery, earthy notes of the Saison yeast.

750ml bottle from Total Wine in Paramus, NJ. Shared with bananabi11. Golden pour with a white head leaving spotty lace. Aroma has fruit & pine, lemons, somewhat farmhouse-y, somewhat 'sour'ish. Very interesting nose gets more smooth syrupy fruity down through the glass. Taste is of sweet and tangy fruits, sour fruits, some pine, some sweet pale malts. Very smooth. A bit strange. Medium bodied or a touch less. The blend is pretty good. There is some alcohol presence. Finishes tangy sweet. The yeasty farmhouse focus was overtaken by the smooth fruit blend down through the glass. This was better down the glass than early. 14.2

Thin bright white head of fine bubbles with very good carbonation. Light malty aroma with lots of earthy notes. Hint of sourness, creamed corn, straw, yeast and mint. Color is a clear bright gold. Carbonation explodes in the mouth. Lots of dry grains, straw, lemongrass, mild sourness and some dried flowers. Light alcohol presence. Lots of earthy flavors and very crisp and easy drinking. A pretty tasty saison.

Bottle. Notes of herbal, floral, wheat, yeast, pine, pepper, lemon peel. Smell more like a sour. Flavor is tart and peppery. Wheat finish. Mint and spice. Light fruits throughout. Very easy drinking but you know there’s heat in there.

UPDATED: JAN 27, 2017 32oz growler from State Line. Poured into Coney Island glass mug. Hazy golden color. Decent sized head that fades without much lacing. Aroma is lightly fruity, and thick bready maltiness. It tastes like some pineapple was added to this, maybe that is some brett? Aside from that there isn?t anything funky or sour about the aroma. Mouthfeel is a little thicker for what otherwise feels like a small beer. Flavor is lightly tart pineapple with again a thick maltiness. A little dull of a beer, not a sour, low hop... meh. I will drink this 32oz growler and I?m fine with it for the low price I paid but I have no need to drink it again.

Nice fun balance of a sour, slightly estery/malty, fairly tart Saison with the subtle but definitely present taste of pine. Sharp, yeasty, nice head, excellent beer worthy of one of my homeland’s best regions and of the Christmas dinner table

750 from Capone’s. Pours straw colored with off-white head. Nose is hops, pale malt, melon. Tastes of hops, pale malt, mild herbal and sprucey notes. Medium bodied finish.

Pours lightly hazy straw gold with a small, thin white head that was gone quickly. Mild aroma, with floral and minty notes. Maybe a touch of the pine beneath. Body is light and a touch oily. Mild astringency to the finish. Kind of a honey-sweet flavor with a bit of a floral note. As it warms, an herbal note shows, along with some minty wintergreen at the back. Very different, but enjoyed it.
