UPDATED: AUG 5, 2006 Bright golden. Toasty, herbal, spicy aroma. Clean yeast character, faint pale malts and a little bit of spiciness. Also some yeast and minerals. Quick, refreshing.

Old notes (2000: Beige with a spicy, yeasty-fruity aroma, the carbonation is spritzy but forceful, and the palate showing the malty-yeasty-spicy combination of a grisette, but lighter in body. 7 3 6 3 14 = 3.3

A: The beer pours a lightly hazed golden orange color with a tall white head.

S: Lemon zest, banana, and bubblegum make for a very...interesting aroma. Light breadiness from the malts with a moderate sweetness. Hints of pepper and other spices.

T: Sweet pale malts with some light bready notes. Pepper and earthy flavors are present as is a hint of banana. Lots of lemon, particularly lemon zest, with a little bit of tartness to it.

M: Light to medium in body with a medium level of carbonation.

O: Not nearly as bad as their IPA that I had before it, but still not a fan.

Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours dishwater gold with a slight white head. Aroma is light light pitted fruit with a hint of yeast/spice. Med body more or less. Flavor is lightly bready, slightly fruit, dusty/wheaty. Spicy - not to my tastebuds. Summer beer it is.

355ml bottle. Surprised this isn’t actually a saison. Golden pour. Aroma is bready with herbal hops, pleasant. Falvor is sweeter, herbal, very hoppy but not bitter, herbal hoppy, bit too sweet but decent.

This beer is a pale gold/yellow color and is mildly bubbly. Thin off-white head that did not last. The aroma is wheaty and vaguely spiced. Light and crisp with a nice hops presence along with more spice and a little citrus. The finish is a little on the sweet side but has a small hops bite to it. Kudos to Flying Fish for actually making a Summer Ale with some flavor other than lemon.

UPDATED: MAY 16, 2013 GABF ’07 and re-visit from the bottle Pours gold with an average, creamy, off-white head, lasting with good lacing. Aroma is average malt (grain, hay, straw, meal), light hops (grass), and dusty. Light bodied, average carbonation, and a bitter finish.

On tap at Buffalo Billiards, where we stopped during the Friday night of RBSG for a meal and what turned out to be some of the worst service I have ever encountered. Pours a clear gold with a thin to medium sized white head. Soft grain and wheat on the nose. Grainy, with light toast and crisp warm grain on the finish. Decent lawnmower beer, light lemon and grain.
