COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This English-style I.P.A. features a deep golden color, plenty of hop bitterness balanced by malt sweetness. Dry hopping results in a floral and herbal hop finish. HopFish is then lightly filtered to maintain the appropriate body and flavor. The beer features a combination of European malts to balance the hops, making this quite drinkable and quite versatile in pairing with food.

Malts: Two-Row Pale, English Medium Crystal, and Munich
Hops: Nugget, Palisades, Cascade, Columbus
Yeast: Chico
Original Gravity: 14.7 plato

Hazy amber in color with a thin white foam that leaves little in the way of lacing. Aroma was skunky at first. The stink finally blew off and left some floral and pine aromas. Powerful carbonation and a light/medium body. Flavor was a pleasant surprise given the smell it started with. Nice caramel base and a strong contingent of pine, citrus, and floral hop bitterness. Hop complexity is typical with a slightly floral finish.

Twelve ounce bottle. Dry and malty, a little tangy. The bitterness stops before it gets too heavy. A handsome beer, but better looking than tasting. The scores here are fair. So glad it didn't get a 90 so I am not scratching my head.

malty for an IPA; different from traditional west coast style IPAs that are all over the market

A12 ounce bottle. Amber orange color topped by a large frothy beige head. Toasted malt nose hints at caramel. Subtle bittersweet malt flavor. Dryish middle. Bitter hop finish has peppery notes.

Bottle from Total Wine, South Richmond. Pours clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is toasted malt, minor coffee, minor citrus. Flavor is bland malt, minor coffee, almost no citrusy hops. Very bland, boring, and more a pale ale than anything.

This isn’t a bad beer... just a bad ipa. Very malty and full bodied. Very light on the hop flavor. Sweet very sweet. at best a pale ale. Good carbonation.
