English Pale malts and flaked barley meld with blackstrap molasses for a hearty and complex malt flavor. For hops we used Cluster, the first hop cultivated in the US. The beer finishes with the modern Simcoe and Centennial. The latter gives a deep piney flavor and aroma, a nod to a state treasure-the Pine Barrens.

Hazed copper with white head. Mild malt aroma. Smooth roast and well balanced with a touch of earthy hops and lingering roast. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Crisp, very slightly hazy light amber and copper coloured body with a very thick, four centimetre tall off-white head that leaves a pretty ugly, soapy lace on the sides. Aroma of alcohol, caramelised sugars, toffee, english hops, cardboard, biscuits and a bit scotch or bourbon. Medium-bodied; Biting earthy malts to speak of up front with a strong english hop flavour, some subdued treacle and raisins alongside, but all with a deep biscuity and yeastie flavour. throughout. Aftertaste shows some of the sweetness, a lot of the earthiness and even more of the english notes, from the toffee to the malt choices and especially with the hop flavours. Overall, a decent beer with some good profiles, but no real complexity, nor the aggressive flavours that I care for too much. I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 12-July-2015 for US$8,90 sampled at home in Washington after the Blizzard of 2016 to be one with the whole of the East Coast which was hit by the storm here with ~2 feet of snow and on the Jersey Coast with a lot of flooding, sampled here at home on 24-January-2016.

Bottle from jtclockwork. Pours a slightly clear brownish Amber color. Off white head. Aroma of stale hops and caramel. Taste is oxidation and old hops. Gross base beer underneath. No thanks.

750ml bottle pours a deep orange with some creamy, white head. Nose has pine, BIG pine, honey, turbinado sugar, herbal, soapy. Big and soapy, kind of like an old school DIPA. Flavor has malt, lots of honey, biscuit, soap, orange peel, pine. Full bodied, piney finish.

ben4321 (6827) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - FEB 6, 2015
Location: 750 ml bottle from Buy Rite, 2/6/15

Aroma: It has a light malty aroma, some herbal notes, a bit of spice, and some caramel
Appearance: Pours a murky orangish color with a with a sheety off-white head and coating lace
Flavor: The taste is along the same lines, lightly sweet, with a herbal/spice finish
Palate: Medium bodied, leaning light, with a average-plus carbonation, and a light dry finish
Overall Impression: Decent overall. It is a little on the lighter side from a nose/taste perspective. Pretty drinkable. Not a standout, but a solid beer.

750ml bottle courtesy of mikeq215. Thanks. Pours a hazy copper-amber color with a medium sized white head that has very good retention. The aroma is pleasant with pine, sweet caramel and something spicy-herbal. The taste is complex with a big blast of toffee followed by mellowed bitter pine, peppery spices and a trace of molasses in the background. The palate is full and viscous and compliments the style nicely. The carbonation is soft. Finishes long and sticky sweet, but not cloying. Overall: This beer is a masterpiece, I absolutely loved it.
