COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
First released in 2002, and sold out in two weeks. A tribute to the classic Fest styles of Germany the O’Fish uses European malts hops and yeast. A beautiful reddish color, a savory malt profile and nice hop flavor, make this Fest beer quite drinkable. OktoberFish is great with food and especially great with Lederhosen.

Malts: Muessdoerffer Munich, Muessdoerffer Vienna, Pauls Amber, Dingemanns De-Bittered Black and Two-row pale
Hops: Horizon, Crystal
Yeast: Dusseldorf Alt
Original Gravity: 14.3 Plato
Formats: 1/2 kegs, 1/6 kegs, cask-conditioned
Availability: September 1 to November 1 (if it lasts that long)

This is one of my favorite seasonal brews from one of my local brewers. Looks like you would expect from an Octoberfest , but with a hoppier aroma. Flavor is well balanced, and always reminds me of fall

Blackberry backlog, Bottle, Pours orange shade with large white head that didn’t last. Aroma and flavor of spice, sweet malt, caramel, and crystal. Light to medium body for the style. I used to drink a lot of crappy beer apparently.

Fort Myers, Fl. - Total Wine & More - 12 oz bottle. Sparkly, medium orange pour with a soapy white head. Grainy, peppery aroma with hints of corn. Flavor has some wort-like essence to it with some peppery notes, some corniness and just a hint of ripening vegetable funkiness. Mouthfeel is slightly dry. Uninspiring.

At work: pours copper with a small off white head. Aroma is light caramel and a couple hops. Taste is somewhat sweet with toffee and caramel. Somewhat bready. Not bad. Quite meh.

BBD 1/21/16. Slightly hazy amber pour. Outstanding head volume, lacing and retention. Light nose of toasted biscuit with a caramel undertone. Rather bready. Heavy light body with a smooth texture. Normal carbonation with a bit of effervescence in the middle and a weak burst in the finish. The flavor profile is rather good and a bit atypical for the style. Intensity and balance are well done, but complexity is outstanding. Toasted malts yield a bready background similar to pumpernickel. The middle delivers a subtle floral bitterness and a plum/raisin undertone. As the finish approaches, the dark fruit aspect really shines as caramel cascades into the finish. The finish is clean with a subtle crispness.

Bottle. Pours a reddish amber color with small beige colored head. Aroma of cereal grains and caramel malt. Sweet malt flavor with some barley notes. Straightforward but good.
