When I drink Indian beer, you can be sure that I am about to saturate my tastebuds with the most savory, spicy, delectable cuisine imaginable, so the beer is definitely a supporting player, at best. While I'd like a nice cask-conditioned bitter to go with the food, this is the U.S. of A. and you're usually stuck with Taj Mahal, Kingfisher, Flying Horse and the Hayward's line. I still think the 5000 from Hayward's was OK the time I had it but, Flying Horse...its weak lager with a malty sweetness, cardboard hops and a dry finish. Generic yellow, quickly diminishing fizzy head, the big bottle sports a little tag on a collar around the neck, letting you know how great this is. Well, thanks for letting me know guys, 'cause my own tastebuds certainly did not discern this. But...like I said, as a foil to Indian food...its palatable.

Bomber at Bombay Grill. As expected for an Asian lager, very pale, unsubstantial head. Flavor was OK, but not remarkable. A tad watery, made for accompanying Indian food. Overall, tended to be bland.

Bottle at a decent Indian place near my inlaws place. Golden pale lager fine frothy white head. Nose is bready and grains. Tastes of bread, grain, stale malt, cardboard. Crisp enough slight metallic on finish.

Very very light malt smell... pretty much non-existent... Taste is the same...like slightly flavored water...not bad per se but nothing to rate! One dimentional

A light-bodied, clear golder lager. Little aroma. Slightly sour, dry, and like a weak lemon lime soda gone flat. Slightly medicinal taste. Despite these obvious flaws, not altogether repelling, and it settles into a subpar but mildly refreshing lager.

Clear, yellow pour with a white head. The aroma is mostly straw with some cereal grain. It has a light body with somewhat watery texture and average carbonation. The taste is mildly sweet with a quick, clean finish.

Bottle pours a pale yellow:gold with a medium white head. Aroma of earthy oaty barley malt, like oat meal and honey. Light and sweet malt, faint hop and alcohol. Nice aroma!

Flying Horse Royal Lager Beer has a thin, white head, a clear, bubbly, yellow-straw appearance, and little-to-no lacing left behind. The aroma is of sweet biscuit and soda cracker (non salted), and the flavor is of the same, with a mild, grassy hop note. Mouthfeel is light, and Flying Horse Royal Lager Beer finishes crisp, clean, and refreshing.

650ml bottle shared between myself, my wife and son-in-law on 7th May 2015 along with two other Indian lagers at some random Indian restaurant in Laguna Hills, Orange County. Bright golden pour with a white topping. Almost odourless and tasteless. Slight malty/corn sweetness in the flavour but not a lot going on really. Went well with my Chicken Vindaloo, but I will not be seeking this out again.
