If I had 2 million Ecuadorian Cocoa Nibs... I would brew you an Imperial Chocolate Stout. Brewing with BNL demanded a rare treat -organic Ecuadorian Cocoa nibs -to create a rich, friendly Imperial Chocolate Stout as sweet and quirky as the bands music. We lovingly aged this beer on a bed of luscious raw cocoa nibs creating a black velvety brew so fudge-y it makes you want to lick the inside of your glass. Opaque as chocolate cake, this roasty brew pours topped with a whipped mocha froth. The creamy dark cocoa flavours gently warm with a steady 10%ABV. No bitterness to this stout, just a chocolate boldness that, like a happy memory or a perfect song, keeps on giving. And like great music, this bottle is meant to be shared with special friends and family.

Overwhelming chocolate. Pours like a chalice of Mayan death juice. Rich, thick and long finish. Well constructed, but too sweet to be more than a sample for my palate.

Sweet milk-chocolate aroma, very alike to Southern Tiers Choklat. Some dark malt in the aroma as well and rich cocoa notes. Completely black, thick pour with minimal head. Taste is also reminiscent of ST, with the milk chocolate showing prominence, carbonation and alcohol in the middle and dark cocoa/mild hop bitterness at the finish. Bitterness doesnt meld as well with the rest of the taste as in the ST. Body is medium, would have expected a bit thicker for the type of beer. Overall great chocolate imp.

Pours a deep black colour with a tight dark brown head. The aroma is absolutely loaded with chocolate. Has a lot of chocolate syrup and fudgey aroma along with a little bit of light vanilla backing it up. A touch of coffee/mocha sweetness as well. The flavour has a touch of roast but its mostly dominated by intense bittersweet chocolate flavour. There is a significant bitterness on the finish but it still leans to the sweet side of the coin. Intensely flavoured and quite rich on the palate but there is a little bit of a vegetal/grassy character on the finish that I could do without. Fairly one dimensional and the chocolate/cocoa completely smashes any malt flavour that might be here out of the way. Okay - but its way too much for me.

Bottle. Pours black with low beige head. Aroma is of extreme chocolate, malt. Taste is of extreme chocolate (we are past reasonnable levels here), malt. Palate: Medium body. Overall: This one is nearly a joke. Massive chocolate. Alcohol well hidden. Not bad per se, but this is not for me.

Bottle. I got a pour at a RBQ tasting. Black with a small head. Like someone said before, this beer is all about chocolate. It smell and taste like chocolate cake batter. So intense sugar and chocolate. If I had a full glass of this, I certainly wouldnt have been able to finish it. I needed to change my glass after this beer because chocolate aroma was sticking to it.

Great packaging! This Chocolate Stout is for the strong. Lots of alcohol to make you smile. The best way to drink this fragrant stout is in a warm cosey pub with a few close friends in a snow storm. great job you crazy Flying Monkeys!!!

UPDATED: OCT 9, 2014 Fantastic chocolate aroma. Do I want my beer to smell this much of chocolate? If its this deliciously tempting than yes I do! Gorgeous chocolate milkshake aroma. Frigging good. The appearance matches the aroma. Lovely dark head and clinging lace. Lets get to the taste. Smooth texture, very smooth with a thick chocolate and roasted malt, coffee flavour. Its just sex in a glass. The second sip doesnt have thes same impact. Sloppy seconds? The beatles once said "Let it be". So Ill let it be for a while. If wasnt a dream ifs still chocolate in chocolate alcohol form. Its genius. I gave a sip to Mrs gethinbeer thinking she would love it. She hated it so I got to drink all of it to myself. The beer is a patomime. Its enjoyable, playfull but is it real. Do yoh wish you had sat through the whole thing? No harsh finish just a subtle hint of alcohol. Lovely stuff. Deadly chocolate dessert. Death by chocolate.

[4878-20121027] Cask. Super rich chocolate syrup aroma. Black brown body with a quick bubbly head. Liquid chocolate syrup flavour is super rich and heavy with an underlying booze. Full body. Deliciously rich, would be awesome paired with ice cream. (9/4-/8/4/17) 4.2
