750ml bottle. Pours a clear ruby with a half finger, khaki head that sticks to the glass. Aroma has great notes of bread, caramel, dark fruits, mild pine, and a slight creamyness. Taste is on the bitter side. Bread, caramel, pine, resin, and slight tropical fruits. Medium-full body with a medium carbonation, and a dry finish. Overall pretty good. Big bready caramel with dark fruits, pine, and resin. mabel (9874) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 12, 2014

This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a deep dark red color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. Light lacing pervaded throughout the glass.
The smell had a decent intriguing dark roasted caramel maltiness with a light toffee and alcoholic nuttiness.
The taste took those flavors and combined extremely nicely.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a sessionability about it that was there. The carbonation was fairly subdued but still good for the style.
Overall, pretty good American Strong Ale I’d have again.
Bottle: Poured a deep amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of deep sweet caramelized malt with some earthy and piney hops. Taste I also dominated by some sweet caramelized malt with light unrefined notes with some citrus and piney hops. Body is quite full with good carbonation. Too much residual sugars for my taste but still enjoyable. pushkinwow (2909) - Ottawa, CANADA - JAN 24, 2014
On tap at the Only Cafe during the FM tap take over. Clear mahogany with tan head. Fair amount of hop combining citrus and pine, creamy bitterness if that makes sense, but goes from a nicely balanced bitterness and off the deep end in terms of astringent bitterness before being being back slightly with a semi-sweet malt backbone. Dry, moderate carbonation and full body. A heck of a lot going on although although its an enjoyable roller coaster ride.

Bottle from LCBO. Pours clear red with a fine, tan head. Aroma of oatmeal cookies, slight fruitiness, some American hop character - citrus, pine. Taste is malty-sweet up front with some caramel complexity, big body with a hop finish that provides good balance. The carbonation seems a bit high for something so malty. Really nice and complex though. blankboy (7833) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 20, 2013
[Bottle (750ml)] Pours a deep amber with an average size long-lasting frothy tan head. Some lacing on the glass. Aroma is kind of Barley Wine-ish. With sweet, toasty caramel malt, lots of leafy hops, some alcohol and some fruit. Flavour is sweet and equally malty and hoppy along with some alcohol, tropical fruit and a big, long bitter finish. Average to medium bodied. I didn’t love it, not sure why, but it’s certainly pretty good.
