750 ml bottle from the brewery. Pours a brown colour with a huge tan head. Aroma is roasted malts, molasses. Taste is similar. Careful with this one, you’ll end up lying on the floor if you drink too much of it too fast.

Turtles (3016) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JAN 30, 2016
750ml bottle from Systembolaget Hornstull. Clear deep amber, thick large tan head, leaving rich lacing. Caramel aroma, dark sugar, wood and dried fruit. Medium bodied with a smooth, dry and sweet mouthfeel. Woody, pine taste with sweet notes of caramel, molasses, toffee, dark dried fruit and sugar. Dry and woody finish with warming alcohol.

Pours a clear brown in color. Aroma of roasted malt, brown sugar, and molasses. Very little hop aroma, but you can taste the bitterness from the hops as well as the sweetness from the malt. At 11%, I do notice the alcohol, but it is a smooth beer. Slight bitter finish that does not linger.

Smell is slightly nutty and hoppy. Pours thick, almost sludgy near the end of the bottle, brown and hazy. Flavour is big and roasted malts combined with juicy citrus. Full bodied, no alcohol burn, very well balanced for a very intense beer. I want another one! I’m happy the nutty flavour is subtle.

[email protected] More or less black colour with a mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is liquorice, alcohol, some nutty notes as well as some herbal and toffeeish elements to it. Flavour is fruity, floral, liquorice, toffee and some leathery notes with mild nutty notes in the finish.
