COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Heeding a chorus of voices crying for a dark roasty thing with lots of west coast hops and a higher ABV, we summoned Netherworld from the chaotic flipside of the brewhouse where hybrid is the norm and nothing is ordinary. Hovering just this side of evil, in the right hands, our Cascadian Dark Ale is bizarrely nice with its own entrancing mojo. However, watch out for those who refuse to see the darkness.

Aroma is citrus, fruit, hops and mild dark malts/bread. The flavor is grapefruit, pine needles, dark malts, a hint of dark bread and a dryish/bitter finish.

Draft. The body is black and has a big beige head. The aroma is smoky and the flavor is complex. Nice dark malts and not too much bitterness.

355ml bottle. Dark brown pour. This is a good one that is more porter-like. Very robust in cocoa and roasted malt, decent body, some herbal hops, good stuff.

Dark brown, creamy head. Spicy rye bread, resin, sweeter berry back notes. Quite rough and a touch watery. But I do like the dark roast and bitter hop combo. (33cl bottle from Saveur Bire)

From Cervezasespeciales. In Teku glass. After dinner. My new favourite american black ale. Great balance between roastyness and hoppynes, with a very moreish dry finish

Bottle. Very dark brown, average and mostly lasting light brown head. Moderate, malty and dryish aroma, light caramel and roasted malt - faint burnt malt, faint fruitiness, some citrus/grapefruit hoppyness. Body is medium, malty and dryish flavor, light - some caramel and roasted malt, faint fruitiness, some citrus - light grapefruit hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and dryish, light caramel and some roasted malt - faint burnt malt, faint fruitiness with some citrus - light grapefruit hoppyness. BIPA with caramel and roastiness. Could use more bitterness (and less caramel).

Tap at Erzbierschof Zurich. Lots of chocolate and roast, not so much IPA. Feels more like a stout than a BIPA. Medium roasted body to a light palate, almost refreshing. Hints of hops on the palate. Nice.
