Heeding a chorus of voices crying for a dark roasty thing with lots of west coast hops and a higher ABV, we summoned Netherworld from the chaotic flipside of the brewhouse where hybrid is the norm and nothing is ordinary. Hovering just this side of evil, in the right hands, our «Cascadian Dark Ale» is bizarrely nice with its own entrancing mojo. However, watch out for those who refuse to see the darkness.

kaserov (1222) - Oviedo, SPAIN - APR 14, 2017

Draught at Beertemple. Brownish black with a large head. Aroma of dark fruit and malt. Flavour is Smoke roast hop, sticky bitter base, a bit of a strange mix.

Black, dense, steady head. Aroma is very weak - caramel, some citrous, chocolate. Medium body and sweetness, bitterness medium to low. Hoppy flavour with gentle dark malts. Bit long hoppy finish. Bit bland.

Dark amber with a medium beige head. Aroma is chocolate, caramel, honey, citric fruits and herbal and floral notes. Taste is caramel, cocoa, coffee, citric and herbal notes. Bittersweet aftertaste. Great beer!

Kauge (2212) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - FEB 28, 2017
Tap at the Greater Good. Brown with persistent light creamy beige head. Roasty fruity aroma and flavour. Dry grainy-roasty mouthfeel, slightly bitter. Carbonation softish active. Pleasant, good. Wouldn’t say memorable though, but I reckon that’s not the point of the beer.

R4N5H (1420) - NETHERLANDS - FEB 25, 2017
On tap at Smith Street Taps on 15-Feb-2017. Dark brown with a medium sized beige coloured head. Aroma of sweet malt, cocao nibs, dark fruit and pine. Medium to full body and carbonation. Taste is bitter dark chocolate, coffee, caramel, roasted malt, floral hops and a light fruity tartness. A nice Black IPA.

budedou (1098) - Saint Etienne, FRANCE - FEB 6, 2017
Aroma is citrus, fruit, hops and mild dark malts/bread. The flavor is grapefruit, pine needles, dark malts, a hint of dark bread and a dryish/bitter finish.

Tranquillity (2641) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 28, 2017
Draft. The body is black and has a big beige head. The aroma is smoky and the flavor is complex. Nice dark malts and not too much bitterness.

crossovert (14359) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 1, 2017
355ml bottle. Dark brown pour. This is a good one that is more porter-like. Very robust in cocoa and roasted malt, decent body, some herbal hops, good stuff.
