I’ve been eager to try a Black IPA since I heard about them in a brew magazine. Exactly as I’d hoped. WOW citrus hops bold and out there at the front, the dark chocolaty beer flavour warming the middle, and a finish of drying hops on the tongue. It is a pretty cutting edge beer for Ontario Craft breweries, and I will seek out more of this in the future. JuanFlk80 (245) - SPAIN - JAN 15, 2016
Excelente cerveza, como casi todo lo de flying monkey, sabor, olor, todo perfecto, no le doy un 10 porque siempre hay algo mejor whitecap (289) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 1, 2011
Pours black with a thin beige head out of a 341ml bottle from the LCBO. dark and chocolate malts. somewhat hoppy but not overwhelming. Not very bitter. Not much to compare this too but it’s pretty awesome. Either a great beer or I really enjoy this style. TheKeywork (61) - Sudbury, Ontario, CANADA - APR 10, 2015
If I had to choose a nectar of the Gods, this would be it. The perfect blend of hops and dark, roasted grains. And as it warms the flavour take care dark turn for the better. Next to smashbomb this is my second favorite Beer. Awesome huineman (688) - Madrid, SPAIN - MAY 26, 2015
Pours dark mahogany. Frothy tan head.
Aroma is high: coffee, chicory, rucola, dandelion, toast... The classical citrus aroma of the Cascade hop seems obliterated.
Silky and oily, with great bitterness and persistence. Aftertaste is dark chocolate.

From Cervezasespeciales. In Teku glass. After dinner. My new favourite american black ale. Great balance between roastyness and hoppynes, with a very moreish dry finish Reimer96 (1743) - Alberta, CANADA - JUN 25, 2013
Pours an clear dark brown with a huge frothy brown head with tons of lace. Aroma of citrus hops, grapefruit, caramel, slight roast malt and toasted cereal. Taste is roasted malts, chocolate, grapefruit and a nice citrus hop bitterness on the finish. One of my favorite black ipa?s out there. taylorderek (40) - Manitoba, CANADA - JUL 8, 2014
Served in snifter at cellar temp (~10-15mins out of fridge). I can immediately see why this opaque black-bodied beer is called Netherworld - Hades lets more light in. Head was a coffee beige colour and an aroma of mocha and beer wafted from the glass with the first sip. Netherworld sports a soft carbonation, creamy texture and a strong, rounded finish. Flavours of roasted coffee and sweet light chocolate malt work spectacularly with the bitter tone set by the hops. kanaclane (470) - - JUL 18, 2015

bottle. Poured opaque dark ruby with a creamy beige head. A super hoppy aroma. Full flavoured hoppy brew. Roasty caramel malts, sweet dark fruit, grapefruit citrus notes. Medium-high bitterness start to finish. My first black IPA and I’m blown away.
