COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Holy Hop, Batman, this beer has aroma." Hops are casted nine different times, its a breath-deep-and-shudder-with-pleasure kind of scent thats all from the Citra hops. With a high alpha acid of 11%, Citra has a cacauphony of flavours and aromas --Citrus, passion fruit, grapefruit, lime, melon, lychee fruit, pineapple, mango, and papaya and dominates this beer.

Smashbombs olfactory tropical explosion shockwaves your face every time you lift the meringue foam towards you. Its like the ecru-coloured top of a beer pie before it gives up and grips the glass. You can see the Victory malts signature in the amber lights in what is primarily a deep golden beer. And, yes, dont be fooled --theres malt going on here, too, as youll see in the firey body of this ale that makes Smashbomb Atomic look like it radiates its own energy.

With the first taste, Smashbombs 70 IBUs are pronounced. This brew is a little bitter, but bitter like a grapefruit with three tablespoons of sugar on top. Its also incredibly drinkable. The oddity thatll keep you tipping the glass is that as this citrus peel front subsides, you actually gleen the sweet flavours of the Victory and Crystal malts. Then, as the bread-puddin bicuity sweetness of the malts are chased by the dry, tropical flavour of Citra and the fruit punch bouquet is all in your face with each sip, its all is so damn intriguing, youll be driven to keep on sampling...and sampling.

Intense pine, tropical fruit, pineapple, mango, citrus zest, and dare I say dill pickle dominate the aroma. Pours a very light amber with a strong long lasting head. The bitterness coats the tongue that leads to a long lasting citrus/tropical fruit finish. One of my favorite IPAs.

The app is failing again. None of my reviews today posted. Draft taproom. Pours golden. Aroma is slightly citrus, minor pine. Flavor is citrus peel, wet dog, pine, roasted malt. Kind of bland. Of course I spilled a good bit of it so all I have left is a mouthful, but nothing special here.

Appearance: clear pale amber with two fingers of fluffy ivory head diminishing gradually to a thin cap, moderate lacing. (4/5) Aroma: pithy grapefruit, pine, caramel malt. (7/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate-high bitter. (7/10) Palate: medium slightly oily body, moderate carbonation, off-dry lingering bitter finish. (4/5) Probably one of the first true craft beers I ever tried - so perhaps its at least partly to blame for my current hop obsession? This ones a bit past its BB date, but that hasnt harmed it overly much - perhaps a tad less citrus on the nose than I remember, but still a solid performer. I certainly dont regret snagging a couple to have while working on the basement. Interesting that the first time I rated it, I was sufficiently confused and intrigued by the high hops that I called it "at least a 6/10, perhaps more after Ive gotten used to it." Yeah, well, Im used to it, and its more. (15/20) 7.5/10 #ryansbooze ryansbooze.com

Bottle @ home. Its a good IPA but not amazing imo. Its definitely bitter but lacks a bit in fruityness. Medium body, crisp.

On tap at Smith Street Taps, Singapore on 15-Feb-2017. Hazy orange amber colour with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma of sweet malt, citrus and pine. Medium body and carbonation. Taste of caramel, orange, grapefruit and floral hops. Light to medium bitterness, with a fruity finish.

no bbd on the bottle; this sample goes very much towards a hop-forward Amber, and as such would be delicious and quite special, with its black-tea astringency at the finish and its mango-flavored black tea notes mixing well with the caramel, woody and vanilla notes. But - at least this bottle - has none of the advertised aromas. If this should have happened due to aging, then this beer has been aging quite well. Lets hope so...

Bottle from saveur-biere.com . Bottled in August 2016. Nose is lemon grass, citrus, melon, apricot. Palate is really Bitter, 70 IBU is a lot, already and this is not that fresh. Some fruity and sour notes, but so few that I cant really make out any distinct flavour. The aroma alludes to the tropical flavour, but I cant taste it anymore.

0,473l can at home bought from Beer Republic. No obvious BB date. amber hazy color, medium big off-white head. smells pines, light caramel, bit citric, lemon grass, bit milky, even a bit chocolaty. good smell, aromas are rather muted though which I guess shows that its not sooo fresh anymore. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes earthy, citric, grassy, hints of licorico, tobacco. finishes rather grassy bitter with some citric and licorice notes. good but a bit unbalanced, rather too bitter on the finish. More like an amber ale overall, but still quite nice stuff.

Backlog, ocena przepisana z untappd, w ramach uzupełniania profilu na ratebeer. Karmel, herbata, mid, mocno ziołowa, zalegająca goryczka. Gdzie ta Citra? Ehh
