3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled, from Systembolaget. Dark ruby, rich firm head. Toasty nose with prunes and hay, Mid sweet with light-medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Dark bread, herbal spices, coffee and plums. Mid bitter finish. Very British, in a highly positive sense - more focus on drinkability and depth than on hip hop varieties and other features, that would attract the average hipster blogger. Would love to get this on cask.

Bottled. A brown beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of malt, bread, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, caramel, and bread, leading to a dry finish. The body is thin. I don’t like the flavor. JanLaursen (3227) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - OCT 30, 2014

Hazy red-brown colored with a medium sized off-white head.
Sweet and fruity aroma of caramel with notes of bread and dried fruits.
Sweet and fruity flavor of caramel with roasted notes.
Light roasted finish. CloakedDagger (2658) - - OCT 30, 2014
Bottle 50 cl. Pours a dark, nutty brown with a smallish, off-white head. Nose is a little fruity, caramellish and only slightly roasty. Medium body, somewhat phenollic, caramellish with a pleasant and subdued bitterness. But I normally would suspect a higher degree of roast in a dark Mild. 301014 gnoff (10713) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - SEP 11, 2014
50 cl bottle at Tullen Majorna, on Wednesday September 10, 2014.MrHult (467) - SWEDEN - AUG 13, 2014
Clear dark brown color, tan to light brown head. Sweet, fresh, malty, berries, banana (ripe), touch of alcohol, some liquorice scent, higher alcohols and estery. Mineral, roasted, ash taste. Dry, ash finish. Thin mouthfeel, medium bitterness that comes through rather harsh.
Turns phenolic with some warming up, also not that highly drinkable that I hoped when getting a mild ale.
Had scent at 7 at first, but with the phenolic notes lowered that to 6. Also had overall at 8 first, but lowered to 7 when it got increasingly hard to finish the beer.
Came close to returnign it at the bar and asking if it should really be this way. Not impressed, also starting to think that the excessive phenolic character might be from bacteria or wild yeast?
