(750ml bottle @ Himmeriget, Copenhagen, July 6/17) Pours a clear to slightly hazy - pour dependent - amber colour, a bit on the darker side for a gueuze, with a small but active white head that fades without lace. Aroma and flavour reflect the Girardin heritage, with a caramel base, nutty Sherry-like nutty notes, baked lemons, sour pit fruit, heavy wood, dusty basement, slightly mouldy funk, touches of aged vinegar. Flavour reveals a touch of the sweet caramel malt core, zippy lemon, yellow plum, sherry vinegar, touches of wine, apple skins, light cheese, hefty wood, leather, basement. Medium bodied, oily, light but prickly carbonation. Obviously this is known to be a variable beer, even when bottles are stored in the same place. This one felt like it was not completely fermented out but also not as limp as some. Very solid Girardin, enjoyable if not quite up to the current price tag. Hazed dark golden color with a white head. Ends soon up as a layer. Nice aroma with a fine intensity. Medium body and a fine carbonation level. Pleasant acidity and sourness level. Fruity, funky, oak, some vinegar, citric and a bit vinous flavor. Lasting flavor. Solid stuff.Ungstrup (38246) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JUL 4, 2017
[Bottle at The Blåbær Lambik 2017 Release queue outside Himmeriget in Copenhagen, Denmark]
Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of horseblabket, vinegar, malt, and brettanomyces. The flavor is sour with notes of horseblabket, vinegar, lemons, malt, and brettanomyces, leading to a tart finish. MartinT (10036) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 17, 2017
My Bottom Line:GlasgowTAD (1874) - Glasgow, SCOTLAND - JAN 28, 2017
This super dusty Lambic seeks to hide its caramel base with exacerbated funk and leafy greenness.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the cloudy dull amber-hued blond.
-Acidity levels are rather high.
-The dustiness recalls unkempt basements.
-This isn’t bad, but it is far from the refinement of a Girardin Lambic.
Bottle. Pours a cloudy peach colour with no head. Aroma is mild elderflower, slight apple, funk. Taste is funk, slight citric sour, a hint of green apple sweet and tart, earthy finish. Thanks to David!

Hazy dark amber color. Sour nose with horse blanket, lemon, cat piss, cob webs in the nose. The mouth has low carbonation, sour, tons of wood, cob web, leather. Perfectly balanced with right amount of sourness. Amazing. djd07 (15356) - Houston, Texas, USA - DEC 7, 2016

The flavour is moderate sour with a crisp light refreshing yeast citrus acidic palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Superb in every way. Served at the perfect temperature.
