Pours dark brown into a snifter. Mocha head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Sour chocolate aromas. Thin with soy, licorice and dark chocolate upfront turning to hot chocolate covered pit fruit in the lasting finish. LilBeerDoctor (4140) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 9, 2017
Can. Pours black with a very thin dark tan head. Aroma of dark fruits, chocolate malt, light roast. Flavor of chocolate malt up front with hints of vanilla, licorice, dark fruits, cacao, roasted malt. Overall a fairly fruity impy with chocolate undertones.

Deep dark brown pour, smaller khaki head, no lacing. Dark malts, dark fruit in the aroma, black coffee. Dark chocolate and coffee in the taste giving way to an almost blueberry-like aftertaste. Slick mouthfeel, medium to heavier body. DiarmaidBHK (5671) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 26, 2016
Can from Julio's liquors. Pours black with a thin khaki head. Leaves some
lacing in the glass. Has a some roasted malt on the nose. Decent chocolate on the tongue but it's not doing much for
Me. Hides it's booze well. Eh!

Can pours dark with a deep tan head. Leans more coffee than chocolate with big roastiness and a bitter kick in the finish.

Pours in a dark brownish color with a mocha head. Aroma of a chocolate or coffee. Big roast, high carbonation, goes down smoothly and has a solid coffee/chocolate aftertaste. All in all great stout. Quick3Beers (1360) - East Falmouth, Massachusetts, USA - APR 21, 2016
Pours a black from a can. Chocolate and molasses notes in the nose and mouth, big round mouthfeel, not thin at all. Nice sweetness balanced by a bitter finish, not overly sweet. Good beer. superspak (5883) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - APR 1, 2016
Got in a BIF from tasterchoice62. 12 ounce can into snifter, no can dating. Pours dense pitch black color with a small dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, toasted dark bread, smoke, char, herbal, light dark fruit, and roast/toasted earethiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt and moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, toasted dark bread, smoke, char, herbal, light pepper, light dark fruit, and roast/toasted earthiness. Moderate herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, toasted dark bread, smoke, char, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great roast/hop bitter/sweet balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light dryness from roast/hop bitterness that lightly increases through the glass. Light carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a very smooth, creamy/silky, and fairly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Russian imperial stout! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and moderate earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and easy to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering. rjplumer (1152) - Foxboro, Massachusetts, USA - MAR 29, 2016
Mild chocolate aroma. Black body topped with a two fingered deep tan head. Evenly balanced with smooth chocolate and coffee notes. Has a creamy feel to it. Warms the palate just right. Well done brew. Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - JAN 29, 2016
This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a dark brown color almost black. Thin white to off white foamy head that quickly dissipated. Concave light lacing.
The smell had all of the initial qualities of a nice RIS with more roast and bitter coffee coming all about. Subtle cocoa underneath.
The taste was more roasty than sweet with some subtle dark fruits engaging the flavor nicely. More roastiness on the aftertaste and gets slightly sticky on the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body. Decent sessionability about it. Carbonation is quite low key on this one. Bitterness of coffee hits with a slight stickiness as well.
Overall, for the most part, it’s a good RIS, I could come back to.
