Served from tap at the brewpub into a Foothills shaker. This was the first glass poured off a freshly tapped keg with freshly cleaned lines. Pours dark dark brown almost black with a two finger tan head that subsides to one finger slowly. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of malt, spices, and chocolate. The flavor was of cream, spices, malt, and a subtle red wine spice. It had a medium feel on the palate with low carbonation. Overall this was much nicer on tap than out of the growler I had consumed the night prior to having this one. It is a must try if you get the chance.
Bottle shared by a friend. Clear brown pour with a medium tan head. Nose of malt, chocolate and bourbon. Malt, bourbon, cherry and chocolate flavor with a vanilla finish. Bacchus66 (940) - South Carolina, USA - AUG 27, 2017
650ml bottle at home. Pours dark brown with a fading tan head. Bourbon features very prominently in this, supported by cocoa, vanilla, oak and roasted malt flavors. Low carbonation, medium body. Interesting beer, sort of a session-BA, all the flavor but half the ABV. JBPortland (1564) - Hampton Roads, Virginia, USA - AUG 3, 2017
22oz bottle pours dark brown black with a finer of foam. This was barrel aged? Could have fooled me. Uninspired offering. Fairly standard run of the mill porter base here that leans more towards the dark fruit side with a backinng of oatsy granola. Finishes with a slight hint of vanilla and raisin. No barrel characer. At least it was fairly priced at around $8 a bomber. I see why. Meh. UNCCTF (587) - Cary, North Carolina, USA - JUL 28, 2017
On tap at Harris Teeter in Cary. Deep brown, nearly opaque, with a tan head. Very malty, some dry hoppiness to balance it out. Caramel notes throughout. Has a boozy taste in the finish - you would think it was higher than 5.8 ABV if you didn’t know. Tasty. oobawa (1738) - Tennessee, USA - JUL 26, 2017
Boozy as hell, with a deep vein of bourbon accentuating the dry bitterness of Peoples. Dark, bitter roastiness meets vanilla, chocolate, dark fruits, and loads of liquor. Still prefer the original, but BBA makes for a nice variation.

Bottle. This is a perfectly balanced porter with lots of layers and roasting to keep you thinking. patnichols (8) - Washington, Washington DC, USA - MAY 19, 2017 does not count
<6% and solid beer. Good go to brew. Thin palate though. A big notch below port city.

On draft at the Hub City Brew Fest in Spartanburg SC. Aroma of chocolate and caramel. Bourbon flavor comes through just strong enough. Very delicious porter.

Black pour with a thin off white head and light lacing .... Aroma of chocolate, toffee, light vanilla and roasted malts .... Taste is of caramel, toffee, chocolate, roasted and light vanilla ..... Bourbon is light if non existent ... Light bitter bite on the back end .... Has lingering caramel, toffee and roasted malts .... Not as good as expected but solid aracauna (3680) - Georgia, USA - JUN 26, 2016
The bourbon barrel overwhelms all other aspects of the beer. This is basically any porter barrel aged.
