Tasting glass @ Foothills.
Pour: Brown, whiskey-like pour. Thin caramel head.
Aroma: Booze-like nose. Complex and dense with alcohol.
Taste: Too much going on here. Enjoyed the experience, however. Seeing Double is one of my fav DIPAs but the bourbon tones push it beyond IPA land. Like a mixed drink: DIPA + Jim Beam.
Overall: Imbibed for the experience. I respect the effort, but not my thing. The BA People’s Porter reflects a much better use of this technique.
Pours hazy, barely translucent honey gold e with a fairly thick pale buff head. Aroma presents hoppy and woody tones. Flavor divers woody, hoppy and citrus notes, not spectacular but quite enjoyable. Firm mouthfeel has some good fizz. If you see double, please call a taxi. maniac (3800) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - SEP 27, 2013

Date: September 02, 2012
Appearance: opaque burnt orange, fine off white head, bits of lace
Aroma: sweet fruity aroma, orange, caramel and vanilla
Flavor: sweet fruity flavor, vanilla brings out a candy orange, light oak, caramel sweetness, retains a good dose of hops from the base beer to balance the combined sweetness of the bourbon and the base ipa, bourbon grows as it warms

Tap. Light amber with minimal head. Wow, barrel aging really helps this out. Very woody. Slight alcohol warmth. Hop bitterness is mellowed. Rrauth (1196) - North Carolina, USA - SEP 12, 2012
Draft. Orange with no head. Lacing is present. Not much aroma. Bourbon is a nice pairing with the bitterness. Still finishes very bitter. Yummy

Delightful bourbon smell. A bit sweet but well balanced with the hops. Bitter bourbon finish, excellent Steasy66 (1158) - Minnesota, USA - AUG 20, 2012

Light amber, little head. Big bourbon nose with a hint of banana. Flavor lacks a bit, hint of hops, light barrel character. Mouthfeel is good.
Tempting aroma and intriguing appearance leads to a taste that doesn't blend well between bourbon and hops with a satisfying mouthfeel.

Draft at Milltown. Sweet, sugary, mild bitterness. Bourbon shows through but is fairly muted by the older hops still kicking around. Its drinkable and not oxidized. But I’m not a huge fan.
