Draft. Nothing special. Very bland. My money is on used three time barrels or too short of a time span.

Draft @ Busy Bee (Raleigh)
Deep rich brown color with minimal head. Strong coffee flavor without quit being excessively overpowering.
Great stout worth getting a 2nd of.

Draught. Pours a near black color with a fairly small off-white head. Nose has a smack of bourbon in it that masks a lot of other notes in the smell. Taste has a bit of roasting in there, but is dominated by the bourbon. I like the normal version better, personally. Onenote81 (1002) - Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA - APR 24, 2012
Originally reviewed: 5/20/10. In celebration of "craft beer week," Foothills decided to pull out this big boy again. The bartender told me that this was aged in barrels that had previously aged another beer. Drake (14109) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 6, 2011
This came out a muddy brown/black. Not as dark as I expected. No head at all. No lace. Big vanilla scents in this one. Some oak, bourbon, and a bit of toasted brown sugar. The body is slightly crisp, maybe a bit too much. Could be a little creamier IMO.
The bourbon notes are toned down a bit as these barrels had been previously used. I like that. The bourbon isn’t too overpowering. Some light wood aspects noted. There’s a slight hop presence as well. Very nice. Lots of chocolate, bread, and vanilla. This is one of the best BBA beers I’ve ever had. Well done, Foothills. Though this is only at 7.0%, I feel it. Sip this one.
Served on draft at Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA on 5/26/11. Pours a dark brown color with a large creamy brown head. Good head retention and lacing. Huge whisky notes in the aroma. Almost too much. Also some chocolate, maple, and a faint bitter hop finish. The taste is roasted malts, nutty notes, whisky, chocolate and a leafy hop finish. Medium bodied.

Draught at Carrboro Beverage Company. Thanks Evan. Black with a small tan head. Nose of sweet bourbon, roast, cocoa, vanilla, booze. Flavor is similar. Mouthfeel felt a little light for a bigger beer. Solid. Thorpe429 (5122) - , Illinois, USA - APR 13, 2011

Poured into my mini snifter. Color is black with a tan head and a touch of lacing. The nose brings some really nice notes from the bourbon-barrel aging, with bourbon, oak, and vanilla coming through along with some chocolate and roast. Taste is mostly bourbon and chocolate in a really nice combination. Good heavy feel. I preferred this to Sexual Chocolate and was really glad to have tried it.

A deep dark stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, a smooth musky chocolate, light soy sauce, a bit salty, not bad. In mouth, a nice smooth and bitter chocolate, with toasted coffee beans, not very bourbon barrel-like but good nonetheless. LCBS 2010. Dark brown pour, rich tan head. Aroma is pure on top shelf bourbon, vanill and chocolate. Light roast. Flavor is creamy, sweet bourbon, rich oak, vanilla and toffee. Another beauty. 50belair (3692) - Florida, USA - OCT 12, 2010
UPDATED: OCT 25, 2010 Yet another crazy growler shared by Johnathan at LCBS 10. One word, two syllables bourbon. The beer had a great bourbon nose, and a mellow bourbon, vanilla, and roasted malt flavor. Well done...
