True to its North Carolina roots, this American IPA delivers on the floral, hoppy notes that made Cottonwood a Boone, NC favorite. 100% malted barley and copious amounts Cascade, Magnum, and Chinook hops.

Pours a nice clear amber with a two finger head that leaves some lacing behind, nose has a nice mix of citrus and earthy hops with some bready malts lingering in the background, taste is of citrus and pine and hints of apple very citrusy with a slight bitterness in the finish, kind of walks the line of an Ipa and an aggressive pale ale but non the less a solid beer ...cheers

Old rating. Pretty run of the mill craft ipa. Orange colors. Grapefruit, pine, big malts, sweet. Okay.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy dark medium orange with a half finger white head. Head retention is not that good with just some mild lacing. Aroma is typical of what I would consider a classic East coast IPA. Very heavy on the earthy, piny hops with a healthy dose of malt thrown in for good measure. A touch of caramel and biscuit. Flavor is hop-heavy from the get go with pine and tree bark and lots of bitterness. A bit of a soapy flavor that then transitions into caramel and biscuit. Bitterness is present throughout and lingers long into the finish. Mouthfeel is a touch on the watery side finishing a bit sticky. Overall, this beer isn’t bad but there is nothing at all to make it stand out. In this day and age where everyone has an IPA, this one is just mediocre.

Not my favorite IPA but not bad. Pours a slightly hazy orange. Small, watery head. Sweet on the nose. Taste is pretty hoppy with grapefruit and some perfume notes. Malt is a bit sweet and finish is sort of resiny and mouth puckering. Nothing compared to the Hoppyum.

Tap at winslows, greenville nc. Clear deep golden color, white head. Aroma is hoppy, fruity and malty. Malty body, hoppy, fruity, dry finish. Decent ipa.

Clear golden color with a white head and lacing down the glass. Taste like eating a big sativa nugget with citrus notes busting out of the nose.

Pint at Doherty’s Tavern Cary. Fjle this under "I havent rated this yet? Howd that happen. Ok aroma. Sweet. Cirtus. On the grapefruit side of things. Little pine. Minor toast bread thing. Clean golden orange color, lively carbonation. Good head and lace. Bitter sweet flavor. Medium body light creamy mouthfeel bitter finish. Good. Not gonna wow you. Finr it odd Foothills did this as they have hoppyum and then Jade. But solid enough.

Orange pour with creamy white head and lace. Aroma is sweet caramel malt, citrus hops, and a hinto perfumy/floral. Sweet caramel malt with a nice resiny bitter finish. Medium body with good carbonation. pretty nice

This is laughable as an ipa. No aroma e crept malt. Light bitterness but boring in taste abysmal. One of worst ipa ivedrank.

penguinfinity (107) - North Carolina, USA - OCT 1, 2013
Bottle. Smells strong and sweet. Pours thick, dark yellow with a little sediment. Taste is complex, starts smooth but quickly becomes and finishes bitter and strong. I am not a fan of the IPA style, but this is good to taste, not something I would buy again though.
