COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This crisp, dry ale uses cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and ginger brewed with real pumpkin and a blend of North American and British malts to give Mom’s pumpkin pie some serious competition. A fall favorite skillfully brewed by Foothills.

Tap. Amber with small head. Light, thin body, but spicing is well done with a lot of clove.

chinchill (4928) - South Carolina, USA - AUG 29, 2013
Undated 12 oz bottle from Foothills Brewing. Very good reason to believe this is a 2013 vintage. ABV listed as 5.3% with IBU = 5.2. Lower ABV and flavor strength than the Terrapin Pumpkinfest that proceeded it, but it has very similar spicing; both featuring nutmeg, clove, ginger and cinnamon.

Clean copper gold pour with one finger of off white head. Spicy nose with a nice biscuity/toasted grain character. Grainy and lightly herbal in the flavor with some spice coming through for sure.

Clear amber color with a frothy off white head. Big spicy nose with nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves. Soft mouth feel. Lots of dusty spice, with nutmeg, ginger and cinnamon with some coarse bread underneath. If you like spiced seasonals then this is the beer for you.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a small head on it. Nose has your typical pumpkin spice palate, though I find the aroma to be particularly intense. Taste is pretty well balanced, though the spices dominate any flavor. OK, but nothing special.

TURDFERGUSON (4058) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - NOV 5, 2012
Deep cloudy layered orange yellow red brown with a thin spitty fizzy white head. Nose is light skunk water, heavy spice, no pumpkin. Flavor is more o the same-lots of cinnamon and nutmeg. No gracias.

weihenweizen (3741) - Charleston Area, West Virginia, USA - OCT 11, 2013
Frigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a white wine glass. Pours light amber with small beige head. Nice pumpkin aroma, medium/light body, low carbonation, and thin small bubble lacing. Taste earthy, pumpkin, nutmeg, ginger, and a hint of cinnamon. Good pumpkin beer.

Pint at Tribeca Tavern. Good aroma. Sweet. Spiced. Nutmeg. Cinnamon. Sweet breadiness. Brownish orange color. Good head and lace. Sweet flavor. Lighter body. Creamy mouthfeel. Sweet spiced finish. Its good. Not overpowering in aroma and flavor. Has a good mouthfeel.

On tap at Buffalo Wild Wings in January. Oops, didn’t realize this was a pumpkin beer. Pumpkin, vegetal, earthy, floral aromas. Malty, pumpkin, light leather, floral flavors. Drinking a pumpkin beer in January is not really my thing. This one is alright, but not a great pumpkin beer.

3.3
Shag (2981) - Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA - SEP 4, 2013
Amber color with a white head. Aroma contains caramel, cinnamon, allspices. Think pumpkin flavored stuff. Very similar to an amber ale without the spice. Easy drinking and not overdone on spice.
