On tap at the brewpub. Pitch black, very little head. Aroma is roasty, espresso... flavor is basically like iced coffee, slight hop in the finish. Tasty. katrinaez (1924) - norristown, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 28, 2016
Pours jet black with a little foamy head. Great aroma of cocoa and a bit of coffee. Doesn’t taste quite as good as it smells. Medium body with a nice bitter aftertaste. Tap. freekyp (2194) - Thomasville, North Carolina, USA - FEB 2, 2016
Not really an improvement over their standard People’s porter I think. Plenty of coffee aroma in here, but more of the sitting-in-the-pot-for-hours variety than freshly brewed. Medium bodied. Pours opaque dark brown with a nice rocky tan head. Some cocoa powder notes linger among the coffee in the fade. HourGlass13 (849) - North Carolina, USA - JAN 30, 2016
Pours dark brown, nearly black with a small tan head. Aroma is coffee grounds, and roast. Flavor is coffee up front, plenty of roast, and some light cocoa bitterness. Medium bodied. Good. Travlr (24317) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - NOV 3, 2014
Draft. Hazy brown color, thin head. Aroma of coffee on a roasty cocoa background. Enough beer survives in the flavor to make it an interesting variation on a theme.

Coffee. Coffee. Coffee. This tastes more like iced coffee than beer. I like it even though I’m not a coffee drinker, but if you hate coffee stay away. Drake (13657) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 13, 2014
Draft at Churchkey, 5/23/14. Pours a dark brown color with a thin creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of rich chocolate, coffee, vanilla. The taste is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, vanilla. Medium bodied, low carbonation, mildly bitter finish. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUN 6, 2014
Taster on tap at Churchkey. Black color. Thin tan head. Decent ridges of lace. Awesome big coffee aroma in the nose. Some dark fruit in the flavor. Moderate to bigger bitter taste. More dry finish, minimal sweet. Light to medium body. Lightly chewy texture. More dry finish. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Solid coffee porter... Satisfyingly big amount of coffee, that lasts long into the finish... But it may be a bit thin in the body. I feel like I am drinking straight coffee here, and it’s good for that reason. But I’d like to see the beer shine a bit more. solidfunk (8838) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - MAY 22, 2014
