Dark brown with a lasting tan head. Aroma of chocolate, a little caramel and a dried fruit note. Sweetish roasted flavour with dark chocolate, some licorice, dried fruit and a touch of dark berries Jamiesessions (29) - - JUL 15, 2012
A phenomenal example of style, pours a dark brown, nearly black and goes down easily. elcig (37) - Oliver Springs, Tennessee, USA - JUL 14, 2012
From a growler pours a lovely deep, dark, blackish-brown with a nice tan head. Aroma isn’t very prevalent at all, just a slight bit of roasted malt. Flavor is exceptional with a very smoky quality complimenting the flavors of malt and chocolate. Very rich and substantial mouthfeel with a bit of chewiness that works perfectly. Will definitely refill in the future. Chastastic (18) - North Carolina, USA - JUL 9, 2012
Very consistent and a new favorite. Good dark color with little transparency. Good blend of Flavors with nothing too over bearing.

Draft and ages on Jim beam from busy bee. Excellent Jim beam aroma. Too cold though. Very tasty. Nice sweetness to it with not over the top. I think I may do my next beer with some Jim beam oak.

Great porter...full flavored and good mouthfeel but light and drinkable. Lots of chocolate and roastyness. Refreshing yet full of flavor. Slightly sweet, very satisfying.

Appearance: Pours brown.
Aroma: Aroma is of chocolate, toffee.
Taste: Sweet from chocolate, faint bitterness.
Summary: I got to try the barrel aged version at Savor 2012, and now get the real thing. It’s pretty good too!
UPDATED: SEP 6, 2014 22 oz Bomber This was purchased at Tom Leonards Farm Market in Western Henrico. The porter pours a deep black with tan head that quickly dissipated. You immediately detect roasted malt and a burnt toast. The medium body porter has average carbonation. This is a nice porter, it settles down and the finish is smooth with some burnt malt in in the top of your mouth. Had another at Vermillon in Alexandria, VA. Nice porter! jcr (2726) - Jasper, Indiana, USA - JUN 22, 2012
Draft. Deep brown body with a tan head, rapidly diminishing. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, molasses and cola. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Thin to medium body, watery texture and moderate carbonation. Taste of bittersweet chocolate and coffee with a hint of grapefruit bitterness. It’s noticeably thin, but its strength is in its balance between sweet and bitter and the nice flavors the balance produces. tkrjukoff (4335) - SWEDEN - JUN 10, 2012
Tap at the brew pub. Pours black brown with a smqll tanned creamy head. Aroma is acidy, roasted malty, slightly fruity, some caramel and chocolate. Flavor is acidy sweet roasted chocolate a bit spicy fruity and bitter. Finishes with a nice bitter roasted and sweet aftertaste.
