22oz bottle pours inky black brown with two finger tan head. Nose and taste have big licorice, molasses, dusty dark bitter cocoa, bakers chocolate, not very sweet, dark fruity finish with nice mouthfeel and some dryness on the finish. Solid. Not worth $18 22oz though.

On tap at the brewpub. Everything about this beer screams roasted chocolate - drinks really easily for a 10% abv. Lives up to the hype.

Yeah, just a darn good imperial stout. Chocolate roasty some dark fruit. Not the thickest body for such a big bruiser, but definitely a drinkable imperial. Good show.

Giant mocha nose, and the pour is infinite black with a dark brown head. Bittersweet chocolate on top of espresso, with a Hershey syrup backbone and a dry, clingy bitter fade. Dark cherry and raisin develop as it warms, but the finish refuses to grow cloy. Nice, but a bit boozy. Needs age. (2/2011)

Poured from tap as part of a flight at Foothills Brewpub. Decent lacing and head, black but not thick in appearance. Milk chocolate aroma, vanilla, like hot cocoa. Delicious.

Shared with ebone1988 and Gus at Gus Birthday V1 and The Topaz Turns 100k Spaghettogether. For this fucking book. 22 oz bottle, 2014 vintage. The pour is a decent black with a thicker light khaki ring and a light hit of head. The aroma isnt good. Bitter roasted malt and hoos are what greet you. There is a light alcohol and a touch of chocolate. Its bitter and not chocolatey. The flavor is just not that good. There is a light roasted malt, a hint of molasses and humongous bitter hops. The bitterness throughout his beer is such a turn off. The chocolate is nonexistent. The bitter finish makes me slightly upset. The mouth feel is thin and watery with a brighter carbonation and a lingeringly bitter roasted malt on the finish. No thanks. Thanks for blowing it, Foothills.
