"This is a beer that I really liked, that I wanted to love. Oddly, it’s only real flaw is self inflicted - not enough chocolate. I was expecting decadence, a river of chocolate. What I got was a really really nice hoppy american imperial stout with notes of chocolate, coffee, & bitterness (from the cocoa and hops). As you will see in my score, I think highly of this beer, just baffled that a beer of this name would fall short on the chocolate aspect. It was there, but not really in more amount than many impy stouts that don’t have chocolate in the title. " thewolf (12797) - Kolding, DENMARK - JUN 6, 2011

Completely black with a small, creamy, beige, staying head. Arroma is kinda weird, light sourish, kinda fresh, good chocolate. Low carbonation, fat and creamy, Flavour is (thankfully) better than the aroma. Light dryness, lots of fat chocolate, some mild vegetable notes. Overall really not the very good.
Pours completely black, with modest white head. Thanks Mikesgroove. Pleasant aroma, was expecting extreme chocolate and happy that was not the case. Also happy not coffee overdone. Well integrated RIS, bittersweet chocolate. Medium mouuthfeel. Good drinkability.

2008 bottle from cletus. Black pour with a tan head. Aroma is totally chocolate and roasted malt. Flavor has some roasted malt, a bit of tartness and some good chocolate notes. A very good beer. But not quite what I expected. hopscotch (11236) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - APR 8, 2007
UPDATED: OCT 23, 2010 Growler... Pours pitch black with a small, creamy, light brown head. Decent retention. The nose is of chocolate and ethanol with hints of molasses, leather and caramel... also, a touch of acetaldehyde. Flavor-wise, it’s big and malty with blasts of chocolate, caramel, coffee grounds and charcoal. Mildly sweet; moderately burnt and bitter. Full-bodied with a chewy mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. Chocolaty, charred, abrasive finish. A huge THANKS to boboski for sharing his growler of beer
