A well-structured Czech style pilsner. TORCH is strong in alcohol with a rich, full finish. Good mouth feel and well-balanced Czech Saaz hops ensure that TORCH is not your typical pilsner. Color: 5 Lovibond;IBU:35

Poured on tap into a shaker at the General Store Cafe in Pittsboro, NC. Light, yellow, and watery, this was perfect after a long day out-of-doors over Easter weekend. I expected the lemony bitterness that you find in other craft brewed pilsners, but was pleasantly surprised by the strong honey notes that filled the middle of the flavor profile. This is probably just about as good as an American pilsner can get, and is certainly a good lawnmower option, assuming that your lawn is situated somewhere in the American south.

goldenw ith large white head. nose of spicy saaz hops. some bitterness before a lot of munich sweetness before spicy hops. a lot of residual sweetness for the style leaves it surprisingly not very drinkable

Reviewed from notes. Pours a clear yellow color with visible carbonation bubbles and a white head without too much lacing as it goes down. Nose is some light grass and bread with a few hops. Light European hop character and grass in the taste. Light and crisp bit nothing too interesting. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 11-11-2010

On tap at Foothills, Winston-Salem NC in July 2006. Mid gold colour. Decent balance of biscuity malt and tangy Saazy hops. Quite dry - the malt is maybe drier, thinner and less bready than the norm for a Bohemian style pilsner Fairly full bodied. Moderate bitterness. Clean and refreshing. Pretty enjoyable.

Draft at Barley’s Tap. Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. Scent is floral and sweet malts. Taste is light bitter, grass and a hint of sweet. Nice Pils

On tap at foothills, great white frothy head, a subtle hop aroma, a little weak hop taste, I would prefer a bit more hop character, still nothing wrong with this crisp later.

On draft. Light in color, gold with slight hazy center. Not a whole lot going on with the aroma, slight citrus and hops. Light in mouth feel with a hoppy flavor and a little bit of malt backing. Easy drinking beer.

Draft at Satisfaction on Main Street in Durham. Seemed like a typical sports bar but we were waiting to meet up with friends at another place and this was a discounted draft. Pours a clear, bright gold with a big white head. Aroma of bready malts, straw, grass, herbal hops, and sweet grains. Flavor follows along those same lines, but I got a better quality from each of the notes as I drank it. Light-bodied, with high carbonation early that mellows and an light malty mouthfeel. Based on the other reviews, I’m sure this would have been much nicer at the brewpub or serious beer bar where the lines are cared for better.

Looks the part of a typical pilsener with a rich golden color and a thin creamy white head. The aroma has a dull, earthy bitterness that is pleasant but a bit muted. The flavor is more potent, with the same noble hop character coming through on top of a decent malt base. The texture is a bit thicker than a typical pilsener, being more resinous than crisp. Overall, this is a fine beer, but it doesn’t really impress.

Bitter start, fades into yeasty flavor, finishes hoppy sweet. Good head, good carbonation.
