COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Copperhead Ale is a copper colored German-style Altbier, with a light, malty sweetness and a pronounced hop flavor. Alt is the German word for old, referring to the older style of ale brewing. Altbier is Germany’s pale ale. Copperhead Ale is top-fermented, making it an ale and it has a medium body. It has hints of maltiness and hoppiness in its aroma, with a definite hop flavor and a medium hop bitterness. Altbier is predominately brewed in the northern part of Germany, especially Dusseldorf and gets its "sweet roast" flavor and copper color from caramunich malts.

355ml bottle, 5 % abv, beer gift from Skinnyviking. Apricot coloured body, slightly hazy. Stable, tiny white head. Smell of dried fruits and toffee. Malt-fruity taste including caramel, bread, nuts, and herbal hops. Mid-dried fruity tail. Fair enough (shared with Finn at his place, Tromsø 12.05.2015).

Not much going on the nose, some floral aroma. Taste is initially sweet, with some malt character in the background. Metallic and bitter aftertaste. Rather watery, not much to recommend going on here.

Jrwhitney6 (503) - - FEB 10, 2015
Beer of month club. Pours an ice tea color with thin film. Nose is a malt bomb. Taste starts out ok - some caramel - but then ends with some funkiness (best described as bad bitterness from hops, I guess). Not that good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
