COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Copperhead Ale is a copper colored German-style Altbier, with a light, malty sweetness and a pronounced hop flavor. Alt is the German word for old, referring to the older style of ale brewing. Altbier is Germany’s pale ale. Copperhead Ale is top-fermented, making it an ale and it has a medium body. It has hints of maltiness and hoppiness in its aroma, with a definite hop flavor and a medium hop bitterness. Altbier is predominately brewed in the northern part of Germany, especially Dusseldorf and gets its "sweet roast" flavor and copper color from caramunich malts.

Bottle at home. Pours copper coloured with a quickly disappearing white head. Sweet, malty aroma. Taste is caramel, fudge even with slight vanilla softness and a little bitterness

Beer of month club. Pours an ice tea color with thin film. Nose is a malt bomb. Taste starts out ok - some caramel - but then ends with some funkiness (best described as bad bitterness from hops, I guess). Not that good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear copper pour with not much head. Bready malts and some flowery hops in the nose. Taste falls flat. Not much going on, just some stale malts and a funky finish that isn’t much of a good thing. I’ve had much better.

Slightly hazy amber/red colour with a dense one-finger white head. Aromas of toffee, bread and some toasted malt. Toffee malt sweetness up front with dried fruits, brown sugar and earthiness. Medium body, gentle carbonation, sticky mouthfeel and a lingering sweetness.

Bottle from Wholefoods, Kensington. Pours rusty orange/copper, off white head. Nose is caramel, sweetish, grainy bread malt. On the sweet side. Taste is caramel, bread and grain malt, bit of an astringent hop, sugary, malty. Not a fan of this.

Kauge (1958) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - NOV 30, 2014
Transferring some earlier reviews from my blog to RB. Kuiv suutunne. Päris halb pole, aga paras pettumus siiski.

355ml bottle from Oddbins Queensferry Street. Pours clear amber, thin off-white head that doesn’t hang around. Aromas of caramel, light honey and nuts. Taste is more of the same, light herbal bitter, but honey sweetness dominates. OK.
