Aroma: Some sweet malts, a little citrus hops, a touch of caramel
Appearance: A relatively clear reddish copper color, small off-white head
Flavor: Mostly malts, with a little hops, a little bot of a toasted flavor to the malts
Palate: A bit sticky, medium bodied
This one is pretty decent, I liked it, but something was definitely missing that left me to call this one just decent, and nothing better then that.
dark clear amber, latte foam, quickly settles, decent tho minimalist lacing...smells of sweet malt with just a hint of hops. i almost think i am imagining them. taste is interesting, perhaps metallic...the sweetness is balanced by some hoppy bitterness and something ’sour’ (in that appreciable, aprihop sour-sense)...metallic sense almost gone on a second sip while the sourness asserts just a bit. would think this mediocre-plus if the sweetness was allowed to reign. On tap: Pours a transparent deep bronze amber with a small, clingy-lacing white head. Aroma of crisp citrusy hops and a touch of sweet pale malt. Body starts with decent fullness for the style and a light malty sweetness well-balanced with resiny flavor hops before a drier, smooth finish. A pretty good and very drinkable APA.

Hardly any noticeable aroma. The appearance when poured is a beautiful sort of amber with a large head that subsides after not too long. The flavour is malty, but the finish is an excessive bitterness reminiscent of burnt almond husks. This might be an acquired taste, yet still clearly this beer’s biggest obstacle. michael-pollack (4959) - King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 1, 2008
12oz. Bottle: Aroma of hops, toasting, grains, malts, citrus, slight maple syrup, and toffee. Poured amber in color with a small to medium-sized off-white head that diminished into a nice film that lasted throughout. Clear. Slightly sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet and light to medium bitter. Tastes of malts, hops, toasting, light resin, slight caramel, slight citrus, and light toffee. Medium body. Sticky, coating texture. Average carbonation. Sticky, malty, bitter hop finish. BeerandBlues2 (14018) - Escondido, California, USA - NOV 30, 2008
Bottle. Pours clear amber with a spare, fizzy, off-white head, diminishing with spare lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, cookie, caramel), heavy hops (flowers, perfume, pine), average yeast (dough, soap) with notes of grape and apple. Medium bodied, sticky texture, average carbonation, and bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness. Hangover (1152) - oxford, Georgia, USA - AUG 8, 2008
On tap at BWI airport. Reddish pour with a nice head. Woodsy malt flavor with some cascade citrus hop notes. A bit astringent as I remember but it went down smooth enough. Average. RichJ7 (1175) - Cullman, Alabama, USA - JUL 8, 2008
