COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tavern Ale is top-fermented, making it an ale. It is a medium to full-bodied beer with a hoppy aroma. Tavern Ale is served unfiltered resulting in a hazy or cloudy appearance. It has a full malt finish with a well rounded bitterness. Tavern Ale is an American Pale Ale because of the large amounts of American hops which lends a distinct, almost citrusy flavor to the beer. Therefore, our Tavern Ales is quite different from the "spicy" or "herby" flavor of European hops.

Very true, not spicy, but still pleasant enought to try again. Tavern ale not as good as most of the other Fordham beers I have tried.

Nice golden copper color with a fluffy head that fades quickly and leaves no lacing. Quite a bit of bitterness balanced with some caramel maltiness that finishes dry.

UPDATED: APR 19, 2007 Draft. Clear amber with small head. Hoppy aroma dominates, but some malt shines through. Flavor is similar, with hops eventually dominating a malt body that mostly stands up to it.

Draft, Ram’s Head Rehoboth. Pours a clear, orangish-copper color; white head with good retention and lacing. Pleasant floral hop and candy sugar aroma. Medium mouthfeel: lively carbonation, decent floral hop and citrus bitterness; slightly soapy and hints of a plasticy note that doesn’t detract much. Medium, chalky and dry floral hops on the finish.

On Tap-Poured a clear amber color w/almost no head. Somewhat hoppy floral aroma. Definate hop flavor up front which was just too strong. Kind of rough, bitter, metalic finish. You could drink it, but why bother. Ordered a Yuengling for my second one & was much happier!!
