wunderbier (1434) - Tampere, - JUL 22, 2011
{thoughts} Refreshingly tangy, lightly sweet and intriguingly fruity.

{elements} Cloudy, peach hue; persistent, white cream. Banana bread aroma with walnuts conjures sweet and tangy thoughts; subtle smoky undercurrent. Soft bready sweetness meets a more forceful carbonic bite and lactic tang; gentle background bitterness. Silky texture, fluffy carbonation, medium body. 33 cl bottle, best before 12/12.

Fresh aroma has hay and fruits. Hazy applejuice color, nice big head. Taste lacks nuances but flavors are nice and fruity (banana). Light to medium body, low carbonation. Easy to drink, fresh and light beer.

Archibaldo de la Cruz (1120) - FINLAND - JUL 31, 2012
Bottle. Hazy yellow color with a medium-sized white head. Malty aroma with notes of citrus and some spiciness. Flavor is slightly sweet with malt, wheat, citrus and spices.

Pours greenish yellow color with a large lasting head. Aroma of lemon, grass, pine and spices. Flavor of grass, lager-like grassy notes. Lots of CO2, mildly sourish bitter palate. Some mandarin on the aftertaste, which vanishes quite quickly. Quite straightforward.

Bottle 330ml. @ home.

Clear medium yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, fruity, light moderate yeasty, leather - wood notes. Flavour is moderate to light light heavy sweet and light moderate bitter with a average to long duration, smoke, plastic. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120108]

bierkoning (13355) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - JAN 27, 2012
Bottle from Tbone, thanks! Blonde, hazy. Lemon and hints of cream and perfume in the aroma. Thin and sharpish lemon flavor. Slightly perfumed, coreander. Short citric aftertaste. Hint of smoke. OK.

(Bottled, rated 2011-06-12) Murky yellow with a medium, firm head. Grassy pils nose with some biére de garde sourness and wheaty pale malt. Nothing like witbier aroma-wise. Flavor is clearly tart - partly from the wheat, partly from somewhere else, reminding me of the sewer notes from Baltic lagers some years back. Very little bitterness, but some grassy-aromatic hops. Almost medium body, quite high CO2. Not really a witbier, but more like Baltic lager combined with aromatic pils and biére de garde. An unusually cheap label and unclean taste go well with the unusually cheap price tag.

330ml bottle (Alko Arkadia, Helsinki)
6 Sharpish citrussy fruity aroma, a little subdued, but still with a nice spicy coriander seed element.
4 wheaty, cloudy, brief head.
6 Packed full of wheaty grains, lovely light citrussy aspects, a touch of earthy yeast.
3 Fairly watery palate, aand quie aggressive carbonation - good for a hot summer day, but I’ve got the radiator on currently. Finish has a pleasant bitter bite, quite aggressive for something with such a mild-mannered taste.
12 Wowsers, this puts blanches on the map. This is no feeble beer, and stands above its peers. Love those hops. Crisp and refreshing, very uplifting.

Somewhat light aroma with citrus and hints of spices. Flavour is also a bit light with spices and citrus. Works for thirst very well, but I see no other function for this one.

Bottle @ drbm. Aroma is slight fruit, faint malt. Flavour is slight swampy fruit. Slight sour note. Not bad, just meh.
