COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Föroya Bjór Black Sheep premium dark lager is an excellent beer with a great taste, brewed by Föroya Bjór, a Faroese family owned brewery founded in 1888. The Black Sheep from Föroya Bjór is a beer of th very best quality. The islanders may have a fishy economy but the Faroese beer is second to none. The brewery has always had a ram in its logo.

Boring stuff. Industrial, standard lager. Slightly metallic, but drinkable when all else fails.

Grumbo (1655) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - SEP 29, 2016
Bottle from Vínbúđin, Iceland. Pours a hazy amber brown colour with a small but lasting off white head. Aroma is malty, caramel, hint of chocolate and raisin. Fairly heavy but pleasant sweetness, with a light bitterness. Medium body, with a sticky texture. Fine carbonation. Finish is sticky, sweet, with touch of roasting and chocolate. I liked this, best so far that I’ve had out of the brewery selection box, with one left try.

A bottle from Martin’s fairwell shindig. Didn’t make the journey with him to Berlin. Crumbs from the captains table. A clear Brown beer with a short White-ish head. A bit of burnt malt, caramel to it but ultimately light on flavour crystals. Not so bad.

Sampled from a bottle at the Copenhagen Beer Festival. Chestnut colour with a tan head. Sweetish aroma, and a taste dominated by caramel and burnt toffee. Some hints of blackcurrant. Good bittering hops giving a good, long finish. A little sweet, but quite drinkable.

Bottle from a Vínbúdin in Reykjavik. Pours mahogany with a thin cream head. Fusty metallic malt aroma. The taste is quite sweet with treacle, tar, liquorice. There’s something a bit cloying about it. Something of a chore.
