Jolly bottled. Reddish brown colored. Malty rye bread aroma combined with egg toddy on øllebrød. Well balaced sweet bready cooky flavor. Medium bodied, soft and pleasant. Ungstrup (37682) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - SEP 26, 2007
Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin lazing brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel and lighter notes of straw and rye bread. The flavor is sweet malty - lovely sweet with notes of caramel and rye bread as well as light notes of licorice, leading to a dry and slightly bitter and strawy end. Thank Papsø for this beer. heavy (2817) - Split, CROATIA - NOV 27, 2008
03/11 0.5 l weird plastic bottle, as Ekta Maltol, courtesy of ogivlado, thanks for sharing! It poured dark brown body with smaller brown head. Quite resembling cola. Sugar, caramel and roasted sugar aroma. Nice sweet sugary flavor (OK, maybe a bit too much), with some interesting spices. Really full bodied with oily texture. Besides caramel, some honey shows up in the aftertaste. An interesting Scandinavian style, but more a juice than a beer, being much better alternative to Coke or similar beverages. Hard to rate this. faroeviking (10913) - FAROE ISLANDS - OCT 20, 2006
Dark brown colour. Sweet aroma, quite a sweet taste indeed. A typical version of the Danish hvidtøl beer style. Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUL 5, 2007
(Plastic bottle 50 cl) Thanx to my colleague Jeppe for bringing this. Pours a warm, dark orangey brown with a small, off-white head. Sweet aroma of caramel and roasted malt. Thin in body and rather flat in carbonation. Very sweet, roasted malt flavours - quite sugary actually with a vaguely cardboardish edge. But highly drinkable if you’re into sweet, dark, malty beers. 280607

brown sugar, brown, clear, none head, medium sweetness, light body, oily feel, soft carbonation, sweet finish. Hansen (8594) - Assentoft, DENMARK - JAN 24, 2011
Brown and clear. Has a white head, fully diminishing. Aroma is heavy sweet, caramel and molasses. Toasted too. Flavor is heavy sweet, hardly any bitterness. Syrupy texture, soft carbonation. Sigmund (7538) - Tau, NORWAY - JUL 2, 2011
500 ml clear plastic bottle, from a grocery store in Vestmanna. No ABV mentioned on the label, and yeast is not mentioned as an ingredient, but if the locals say it is 1.8%, so be it. At least it contains malts and Bavarian hops (and sugar). Dark brown colour, minimal beige head. Strong sweetish aroma of malts and caramel, a hint of smoke and seaweed. The flavour is very malty and very sweet, like a Danish hvidtøl, with loads of caramel. Good enough to drink if you have a sweet tooth, and have to drive ... fonefan (49437) - VestJylland, DENMARK - NOV 18, 2008

plastic bottle(500ml). -trade with faroeviking (thanks Jacob).
Cola coloured, small airy white head, malty caramel nose. Very malty and caramel taste but a way too sweet, otherwise quite pleasant low alcohol beverage.
