A light bodied beer with bright straw yellow hue. Holding a tall white head this beer is like dew from a forest giant, the Silvertop Ash. Supple malt flavours that hint at vanilla and apricot are balanced by a gentle bitterness and aromatic hopy nose. Silvertop Ale pours clear from the bottle, use a glass and leave the yeast behind. We let malt, Otways water, hops and yeast do all the work, you won’t find any preservatives in here. Best served cold and enjoyed whilst fresh.

Pours gold with a small head. Nose shows lemon and gooseberry with a faint grainy straw and nutty note. Flavours include some soft bready and nutty malt, light pear and apple and a bit of tartness.

Poored with a yellow haze. Easily drinkable but not the most interesting beer. Clean and crisp.

crozdog (19) - Ascot Vale, AUSTRALIA - APR 26, 2014
Very clean and crisp, this one is best in enjoyed in the warmer climes. Getting some vanilla and apricot but let’s not kid ourselves, it’s a beer and it’s tasty and drinkable and that is all.

Big fruity aroma, apricot and banana. Cloudy pale yellow colour with good head. Tangy fruity flavour, apricot again. Med to light body with high carbonation ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Gold with a fading white head. Aroma of hay, spices, a little peach, lemon. Lightish-bodied but mouthfilling, quite lively carbonation. Slightly sweet, quite fruity, firm lemony and spicy bitterness. Dry and a little astringent at the end. Solid drop, smashable with some class.

Hazy yellow gold, light gas, creamy and slightly oily mouth feel. Persistent head. High hoppy flavour with clear citrus tones. Clean tasting and quaffable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From a 500ml bottle on 1/10/2013. pours a cloudy straw colour with a small head. Has a slightly odd pungest, yeasty aroma with some citrus notes. Flavour wise, it’s a touch tart with lemon, a fair bit of apple cider, and a bit of cordial in the mix. Has a fullish body and modest carbonation. I’m not sure why this has been classified as a pale lager, though I’m not sure what it’s meant to be. Just kinda weird, and doesn’t really work for me.

gnoff (11138) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - AUG 26, 2013
Draught at Forrest Brewing Company, Forrest, on August 2, 2013.
Hazy yellow color, white head. Sweet, malty scent. Sweet, hoppy, bitter taste. Bitter, grainy aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, medium high bitterness.

KeefOz (1950) - Tarragindi, AUSTRALIA - MAY 25, 2012
On tap at the microbrewery. Poured a pale golden yellow. Trace of hops on the nose and palate.

Disappointingly ’commercial’ might be the best way to describe this beer. Some faint applause for the lowish ABV but otherwise a beer that shows boring Super Dry like tendencies. Some orange peel on the nose but otherwise very bland and slightly sticky with a sweet corny finish. Might appeal to the rank and file.
