Pouring a deep cherry red and developing a smooth latte like head this one presents with dark mystery. Created with six malts and oatmeal we achieve a rich complex malt profile and silky mouth feel. Jest a touch of hops to mellow the roasted malt providing a gentle bitter finish. A complex Stout, bigger than the numbers would suggest. We let malt, Otways water, hops and yeast do all the work, you won’t find any preservatives in here. Serve as you like and enjoy whilst fresh.

500ml bottle from fridge. Pours with some offwhite head, little lace. Very dark brown black, med carbonated. Floral aroma with liquorish which lasts through to the end. Nice balanced bitterness with long finish. Drinkable.

500ml bottle. Pours black brown. Toast, coffee, vanilla, blackcurrant, blueberry. Good full body. Tasty.

Glass @ GABS 2016, Melbourne Black & tan -spot on Dark chocolate, charry toasty malts, licorice on the nose. Very full for its strength, creamy body. Solid palate - stacks of roasty nutty malts, touch of citrusy hop character there too. Really good!

Oakes (19426) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 18, 2016
Draught at the brewery. Medium brown. A touch thin, but it’s toasty and has an accent of chocolate. Straightforward stout, but fairly light.

Davros (3338) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JUL 17, 2015
Pours black with a quickly fading head. Nos shows coffee, bready malt, toast, nutty notes and a soft burnt character. Flavours include more coffee, balanced roast and lightly burnt toast. Body feels a little watery. Very easy-drinking, more of a porter/brown ale.

crozdog (19) - Ascot Vale, AUSTRALIA - APR 26, 2014
The head did not last long. That’s probably the only fault I could find with this stout. Lots of oatmeal coming through. Very enjoyable. Would happily drink again.

gnoff (11145) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - AUG 26, 2013
Draught at Forrest Brewing Company, Forrest, on August 2, 2013.
Clear dark brown to black color, light brown head. Malty, light acidic taste. Roasted aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, low bitterness. Sweet, acidic scent.

hawthorne00 (4196) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - OCT 26, 2012
Bottle. Dark brown with a fluffy beige head. Aroma of plums, licorice and coffee. Lightish bodied, rather fizzy. Taste is sweet and fruity with some mocha and a drying finish. OK, but not really my sort of thing.

KeefOz (1952) - Tarragindi, AUSTRALIA - MAY 25, 2012
On tap at microbrewery. Poured a dark colour. Lacked the mouthfeel of a stout (it was light bodied) but a beer to try as an alternative.

Stew41 (2118) - Phuket, THAILAND - FEB 23, 2012
Light, uneventful, a modest beer. Soft chocolate and even softer roast define the flavours but there’s not much to grab me. Some grainy fruits late.
