(Very Important Pils).

A below average pilsener. However, it's better than most other Italian pilseners.

330ml can from the shop in Italy, shared with a friend. Pours clear with a thick foamy head, heavy lacing and plenty of bead. Pale greenish straw in colour. Aroma of freshly cut grass, cereal and hay, with hints of floral hops. Lively at first in the mouth but bitterness kicks in too soon for much flavour to develop. Higher than average carbonation but barely a touch of sweetness and no malt presence. Overall, a refreshing pilsener that lacks depth, but could still be a satisfying summer drink.

I bought this beer, in the interspar, Adigeo commercial center, in Verona. I drank it yesterday at home, in Lausanne, with my wife. In my opinion, it is a drinkable pils but nothing more. If I compare with a Ayinger or Augustiner pils, this one is not really good. What I could notice, it is the fact that the taste of hop and the bitterness is really rough, mineral, something unpleasant for the throat, not well balanced like a Bavarian pils. The body is as usual gold, normal carbonation, thin and white foam. I prefer a sixtus from this same brewery.

A decent pils type beer from Italy. I like the brew type as it is not just a copy of the traditional pils beer, but rather it aims to stand alone. Very Important Pils is a very good attempt.

330 ml can. BB 02/01/15. From the brewery in Forst (BZ), Italy.
Clear pale yellow colour with a small foamy white head. Dry papery malty aroma. The flavour is mild grassy bitterness, malt, paper and dryness. Quite useless one.

kermis (15285) - The Hague / Amsterdam / Zaandam, NETHERLANDS - SEP 17, 2014
Draft at Mosto, Matera. Pours clear golden with a white head. Aroma of grain, light citrus hops and light malt. Flavor is light sweet and bitter. Light bodied with moderate carbonation.

Drunk at the Forst brewery restaurant in Merlano, Sud Tirol. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
