Bottle bought at Tribaun in Innsbruck. Stylish, Italian inspired bottle which unfortunately comes with a very steep price tag. Fortunately, in that price category, I either want excellence or a beer which pushes the definition of beer. This one fits right in the second category. Gently oxidized, vin jaune, nutty, coconut milk, berries, peaches... an unusual combination stemming from both the red wine barrel sojourn and Belgian yeast. Strong yogurt, caramel, pudding, white chocolate, undeniably complex flavor profile, yet loaded with... Weirdness and not necessarily the highest level of elegance or integration. Medium-full mouthfeel with strong carbonation albeit not dramatic for a Belgian-style. More than noticeable residual sugars, but enough vinous acidity for that to fly through. Obnoxious and satisfying for the genre and more importantly, totally unexpected from Austria Sebilinz (2345) - Linz, AUSTRIA - MAY 5, 2015
Bottle. Dark reddish amber body with small tan head. Aroma is dark caramel, dried fruits with some Belgian yeast. Taste is also dark caramel with some alcohol and hints dark fruits. Aftertaste is sweet and alcohol. Nice one. Saeglopur (2174) - Vienna Woods, AUSTRIA - MAY 3, 2015

Werckmeister (3184) - Vienna, AUSTRIA - MAY 2, 2015
Brown, copperish body, with a small, beige head.
Aroma of nuts, caramel, dried fruits, dark berries, alcohol.
Tastes of booze, nuts, cocoa, berries, dried fruits, caramel, some barrel notes.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes alcoholic, astringent, sweet, malty, fruity.
Very nice. Maybe a bit too alcoholic, otherwise really good. Could be a bit more complex for a high ABV, barrel aged beer, but still a full, comfortable sipper.
from bottle at Craft Beer Fest Vienna Tasting Sessions. kindly shared by Sebilinz. dark amber cloudy color, small off-white head. smells yeasty, carotts, grainy, light vegetables, light alcoholic, malty sweetness. decent a bit weird smell. full body, light carbonation, full mouthfeel. tastes rather alcoholic, dried fruits, bit glueish, light yeasty, grainy, malty sweetness. alcoholic / malty bitter finish. kinda weird, not really too crazy about this one. Bottle: Full aroma, rich on malt, fruitiness of dark fruits, dried fruits, candy. Hazy dark amber color, creamy off-white head. Flavor is malty and light sweet, Nice fruitiness but more alcoholic and well balanced by a medium hop bitterness and some notes of oak barrels. Nice.
