Amber color. Dusty aroma, old coffee grouds, chilli pepper. Some malt flavor, light residual sweetness; light dusty and coffee afterflavor. Not convincing.
Bottled. Amber coloured. Hazy. Dense off white head. Aroma of sweetness, caramel, light teabag, herbs and light spice. Flavour of caramel, cocoa, herbs, spice and light fruits. Vague sweetness. Medium bodied. Sweet and light herbal end. PorterPounder (8355) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - APR 13, 2010
Savannah, Ga. - Habersham Beverage Warehouse - 22 oz bomber. Medium copper colored pour with a slightly sticky medium thick off-white head. Aroma has some chipotle accents and a hint of black dirt. Flavor has the same chipotle taste in the background, some front end subtle fruitiness- nectarines perhaps, some black coffee,a hint of black dirt and an amaretto sweet flourish at the end. Interesting to say the least. Crisp mouthfeel. Dorwart (2613) - Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA - APR 8, 2010
Very interesting brew and one that unfortunately I don’t think that I am going to like. Pretty strong head of fine off-white bubbles. Smoked chilly pepper aroma. Very strange. Some light roasted coffee and some toast. Color is a slightly hazy amber. Weird, coffee/peppery flavor. I don’t know, coffee just does not match up very well with an amber ale. It is not bad just weird. Bit of malts and lots of smoke again. No real alcohol presence. Lingering smoked chipolte peppers at the finish. A very strange brew.
