Bottle. Poured black with a large light brown creamy head that was fully lasting and had excellent lacing. The aroma was of a burnt cereal malts, a mild does of resin hops and a sweet yeast with notes of dark chocolate, coffee and molasses. It tasted richly sweet and quite malty with a small hint of coffee to start then progressed into a bitter-sweet chocolate-coffee flavor at the finish. Mouthfeel was full in body and creamy in texture with a soft carbonation. Overall a quite satisfying chocolate stout.

From May 2008 I bought this on my last trip to Colorado. This pours black with a 2 finger head of tan foam. Some lacing and above average head retention. The smell is mostly of roasted malt with a light chocolate smell. There's also some coffee that becomes stronger the more whiffs I take. The taste has the coffee bitterness up front that's supported by roasted malt and a fairly light chocolate flavour. The bitterness is also very noticeable right before the finish which itself, has a bit of sweetness to it. It has a medium mouthfeel and the alcohol is hidden pretty well; nice job done here as it has some good flavours going on and is fairly drinkable.

Draft at BJ’s steak and rib house. Pours black with virtually no head. Has a fair amount of roasted malt on the nose and tongue. Finished with a fair amount of bitterness. Eh!

Dark brown w khaki head. A bit thin for an imperial, but the flavors are on point - bittersweet cocoa, dark roasted coffee, baker’s chocolate. Nice, if not quite great.

355ml bottle. Jet black colour with small to average, thick, creamy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, beige to tan head. Slightly roasty, dark malty aroma, hints of chocolate, a touch of coffee and treacle, roasted nuts, cola. Taste is sweet, roasty dark malty, hints of molasses, coffee, cola, treacle; lasting finish with a minimally metallic touch, oily texture.

HourGlass13 (1097) - North Carolina, USA - MAY 18, 2016
Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is hops, slightly nutty and organic. Taste is nutty, wood, some spice, and malts. I didnt get any chocolate out of this at all in aroma or taste. If it was there it was very little. The finish is hoppy and bitter. Over all it is thin and not very stout like at all. Not something I would get again.

Pours a dark brown, with tan head. Thin aroma, notes of chocolate and malts. Taste of chocolate, malts, and coffee. This is a very drinkable brew, but isn’t as sweet or rich as some other double chocolates(Rogue). Still, this one merits a ’thumbs up’.
