COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A striking ruby hue and spicy floral nose punctuate the pleasant sweetness of this brew. Crystal malt coalesces with the earthy flavor of Willamette hops. A hauntingly beautiful combination.

12oz. Toasty, nutty and lightly sweet dark caramel malt aroma, with touches of citric hop, brown sugar and musty flowers. Mostly clear deep red color with a lasting, thin, ivory head. Flavor is sweet and fruity to start, some mild esters combining with shades of earthy bitterness and pine, drying out to a large degree before the end. Some orange peel citrus and peppery hop in the finish, along with some lingering cocoa very late. Palate is gently acidic and smooth with a moderately high degree of effervescence and a medium body. Pretty drinkable, its good that the hops have a fairly active role.

bottle. average fizzy head (mostly dissapating) into semi-sparkling murky brown body. good lacing. aromas of moderate hops (resin) and malts (caramel). flavor is moderately bitter throughout. dry texture. long finish duration. above average carbonation. Actually not bad amber.

CelticBrew (912) - The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA - APR 11, 2008
Poured from 12 oz bottle, a deep amber, light brown foamy head. Aroma of some hops, malts and the like. Flavour was of a typical amber beer, nothing special here other than an easy drinking brew. Rather boring and unremarkable. Spend your hard earn green on something else.

12 oz bottle. amber, small head that quickly disappears. different taste at first sip, the hops and sweetness mixing well, with a nice hoppy finish

Smells strongly of dark chocolate roasted malts. Thick and chocolately, a little sweet. Tasty

tap at the brewpub - Pours red (duh) with a thin, light tan head. It has an aroma thats mostly lightly roasted caramel malt. The flavor is mainly caramel malt as well though it has a decent hops bite. Still, the commercial description saying this is their "hoppiest specialty ale" is kind of puzzling. The hops isnt strong. Anyway, its a very straightforward red and quite quaffable.

Bottle from Total Wine. Pours out a dark red color with a thick brownish colored head on it. Smell is full of malts and perhaps even a slight touch of coffee. I did like the smell alot. Taste was smooth and easy to drink, very rich and sweet but not overly sweet. Something I would drink again, this would go over nice with people who dont really like good beer yet.

This poured a nice amber red color with almost no head. Aroma is sweet with some roasted malt. Thin body. More bitter than most ambers Ive tried. Nice hop bitterness. Caramel notes. Finished with a thin watery and metallic taste.

dark amber in color with a head that disappears quickly. Light hop aroma. Average body to the palate. Tastes of hops with a hint of malt. Slightly bitter after taste.
