Good looking beer, a deep red with a tint of orange and a tall, creamy beige head. The aroma is sweet and malty, has a touch of toast, apples, and berries. The flavor is toasty and sweet, fruity with a light earthy bitterness to balance it out. Good session stuff. nazzty (1377) - Ödåkra - Helsingborg, SWEDEN - AUG 13, 2013
Beautiful bodied ale with great flavors and pleasant sweetness. Packed with caramel flavors, vanilla and almond and a fine after bitterness. Braudog (7016) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - APR 16, 2006
On tap at the brewpub 4/12/06: Dark red with a fizzy head. Robust nuttiness. Darn near a java-like flavor. Excellent beer in a style that usually means "vapid" in this country. leah2974 (429) - Georgia, USA - JUL 1, 2012
Bottle from Ale Yeah! in Decatur, GA. Color is a little less on the ruby side than the bottle would indicate. Long lasting creamy head. Mellow florals upfront melt to a combination yeasty-hoppy finish. onceblind (11645) - Denver, Colorado, USA - SEP 22, 2012
Tap at brewery. Clear amber with a thin foamy light kahki head, leaves loads of great lace. Floral caramel aroma with some light refreshing grapefruit tones in the nose as well. Flavor has loads of crystal malts making for a caramelly flavor with subtle earthy toffee, floral grapefruity hops on the back, with a sort of ruby juicy flavor I can’t put my finger on. But really delightful.

Subtle earthy aroma. Dark red color. Fruity notes to start followed by an earthy flavor with a very very smooth finish. Awesome.

Very dark color...slight red tint...light head stays with all the way down the glass. Reminds me of a mild stout. Very delicious. Cybercat (6570) - Georgia, USA - FEB 21, 2010
Aroma is yeasty and malty and just a little fruity, mainly apple. It pours a lovely dark mahogany-copper with a thick, fluffy, off-white head. Rich flavor is a nice surprise, malty, fruity and slightly hoppy with hints of caramel and herbs. Smooth texture has a nice hoppy edge and a firm tingle. Definitely worthy. Amazing aroma of sweet malt, honey, caramel, toffee, butter, cinnamon and fresh baked bread. Flavor starts with a little hop sting, but ends very malty. Palate is very smooth, I had this just after the Rogue American Amber, and this is more intriguing and more drinkable, IMO. Bottle from Frugal McDoogal’s.
