Draft at redlight redlight. pours a clear but bold amber with a white head and good lace. great nose with some peat smokiness and caramel malts. a little mossy perhaps but very enticing. a really great flavor with the smoke notes coming forward. fairly sweet but not too rich and very sessionable. robust flavorful and yet very drinkable at the same time. there is something about this beer that i just really really enjoy. i will enjoy sipping on this one as long as i can. redlight (2325) - Orlando, Florida, USA - APR 30, 2010
on tap @ redlight redlight. Bread with hints of molasses and sweet earthy aroma, caramel almost hints of smoke. Pours a caramel red with a thick white head. Rich caramel malts earthy hops, light molasses with hints of smoke (similar to a steinbeir, not smokey but hints of it). Not bad. sebletitje (10293) - Enghien, BELGIUM - APR 22, 2010
tap @ OTH
pours clear amber, off-white head.
Aroma of caramel malts, touch of smoke.
Flavors, similar to aroma, good light caramel malts, dark fruits, dry grainy palate. Plenty of caramel, toffee.
Light palate malts, chocolate, light lingering smoke profile. Overall mouthfeel is thin. Balanced for the low abv. Scotch lager? why not. mohnjyers (19) - Florida, USA - APR 16, 2010
Draft at Dunedin house of beer. Delicious with Smokey undertones. Would definitely look forward to having again. Murphy (1759) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JUL 13, 2007
Growler. Pours with a big white head, body is clear copper with considerable carbonation. Dry aroma, mossy with a touch of dark chocolate. Taste is loaded with subtle scotchy goodness. Bitter, mossy, with just a touch of diacetyl which I found appropriate here. Caramel peeps through the bitterness in the finish. Tangy. FCB finally breaks the mold with this one, not much of the house taste that makes some of their special offering stuff so similar.
