Poured a black/dark brown color with an extremely full head with nice lacing attributes. It’s appearance strongly resembles an imperial stout. Pungent aroma of citrus and a bit of pine. Nice flavors of citrus, roasted malts, coffee, maybe some unsweetened chocolate in there as well. Definately left a tingling sensation on my tongue with some moderately strong bitterness on the palate. This IPA does not disappoint and the strong hoppiness is balance out well by the malts. I really enjoyed this one. Westmeister (2129) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - APR 6, 2012
Dark black in the glass with a medium sized dark tan head and a good lacing
Aroma is Roasted malts, chocolate and piney/ earthy hops. Taste is more roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and resiny hops. Medium high bitterness. Good balance and a nice black ipa.

Pours pitch black with a substantial cream head. Taste is bitter as hell with a high alcohol taste. Not my favorite at all arminjewell (9584) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - APR 1, 2012
Pour on tap at the brewery was dark brownish with a fairly nice off white head, aroma brought nice pine and citrusy hops right up front, some roasted coffee and chocolate notes, some caramel and slight charred malts as well. Taste is a nice mix of bitter pine and slight citrus notes going into a fairly standard dark chocolate and coffee middle, finishing fairly bitter, some grassy notes at the end. Pretty good!

Bomber. Black color with dark tan full head. Aroma is of a small ibu IPA but it tastes like its a double. Keeps its head the whole time. Turns to a rocky head. Creamy and full. Nice brew.

Bottle. Moderate aromas of toasted and molasses for the malt, pine and resin for the hops, light earth for the yeast, with charcoal, licorice and anise in the background. Head is small, frothy, light tan with good lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is very dark brown with a red tint. Flavor starts slightly sweet and moderately acidic, then the long finish is lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, oily wit a carbonation between soft ad livley. The licorice aspect of this Black IPA becomes more prevalent as it warms. Very bold and very tasty. Opaque black color with some thick white lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate and burnt wood with a slight soapy overtone. The aroma remains fairly light enough. Palate is medium full body with a feeling of chicory and coffee followed by a caramel finish. Hops remain subdued as is common with black IPAs. Very Nice!!! kp (10882) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - MAR 17, 2012

less citrus than the draft six months ago allowing the roasted to come through stronger, more sweetness as well, still plenty of citrus but the roasted runs the show now,
