3/7/12. On tap as "Tap Club" Black IPA, but it has to be this. Dark brown pour with a small khaki head that fades. Hoppy, citrusy aroma with touches of roast and chocolate. Bolder roast, coffee, and chocolate with lingering hop character. Not bad. Camons (12450) - Hasselager, DENMARK - FEB 27, 2012

Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, dark caramel, mango, peach, citrusly. Taste is roasted malts, dark chocolate, some caramel, fruity hops, grassy, grapefruit. Medium body, soft carbonation, well balanced and not to sweet, bitter finish. 250212 HonusWagner (2168) - Florida, USA - FEB 27, 2012
One of the better black IPAs I’ve had recently. Higher on the malty flavors than the hoppy ones, so it’s more like a hoppy porter IMO, with lots of chocolate and roast, although not sweet. Good beer. marcus (10227) - Sacramento, California, USA - FEB 26, 2012
Bottle from Beer Revolution. Pours black with a thick tan head and a citrus and treacle aroma. There is a smoky dark molasses flavor with a bitter hoppy finish. Hearty and tasty. RSRIZZO (1986) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - FEB 25, 2012
22oz bottle poured into a Tulip at 42°. Color is black with good carbonation and a rocky tan head. Aroma is hoppy and roasted. It has a full body that goes down with a rich mouth feel. Flavor of deep roasted malts, giving a mild coffee note, then a nice hop flavor and an easy bitterness. After taste is a mild sweetness with a bit of caramel and a lingering roasted flavor. Overall it a good brew with nice flavors.

UPDATED: FEB 18, 2012 Bottle... Pours black with a small, creamy, khaki head. Fantastic retention. The aroma is chocolate and black malts intermingled with leathery, acrid hops. Full-bodied and creamy with modest carbonation. The flavor presents dark chocolate and molasses as the opening act for acrid, citric, earthy hop bitterness. Lengthy, bitter, charcoal finish. tkrjukoff (4335) - SWEDEN - FEB 16, 2012
Bottle shared with juiceisloose.Pours black witha great creamy tanned head leaving lacing. Aroma is hoppy, roasted, soy, piny, citric, slightly sweet and grassy.Flavor similar to aroma, great bitterness. Finishes roasted bitterwith a fruitytouch. rmussman (1701) - California, USA - FEB 12, 2012
Really enjoy this IPA. Pours deep and dark, with a little bit of a red hue to it. Head is thick but dissipates down. Has a nice creamy texture for an IPA. Really nicely done! Cybercat (5838) - Georgia, USA - FEB 12, 2012
Mouth-watering aroma is hoppy like a good IPA yet smoky like a good stout or porter. It pours an opaque dark-chocolate brown with a thick and rather persistent tan head that leaves some good lacing. Scrumptious flavor has strong hoppy, fruity and mocha notes with a burnt undertone and firm but not fierce hoppy bitterness and a noticeable alcohol bite. Firm-bodied texture is smooth yet lively, leaving a hoppy, edgy, bitter, and subtly fruit-sweet finish. I look forward to sampling more black IPAs. (Wait a minute - if you think about it, "Black IPA" is an oxymoron. How can something be black and pale at the same time?) milewide (2250) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - JAN 31, 2012
Super blend of intense hops, and herbal bitterness, with roasted malt mellowness. Ten percent ABV is too high for my regular rotation, however I vote for a lower alcohol version of this in 6-packs year around!
