COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is the love-child of two of my favorite styles: big, hoppy IPA’s and crisp, refreshing American Wheat beers. Synergy is achieved as the bold citrusy hops of the IPA harmonize with the thirst quenching tartness of an American Wheat. Pairs nicely with hikes to Horsetooth, Poudre River floats, and moonlit bikerides.

oldrtybastrd (5002) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 15, 2016
Pours a nice dark reddish amber color. Aromas of HOPS, and some other hints, maybe fruit, maybe caramel. Flavor is a bittersweet, malty, and hoppy with a nice dry finish.

DrinkinWell (389) - - SEP 8, 2013
Pours a hazy dark gold. Tastes of citrus and tart wheat upon first try, followed by a subtle aftertaste of apricot and nuts. Bitter hops overpower the wheat, though. Not bad.

Chudwick (3181) - Taylor Mill, Kentucky, USA - FEB 5, 2013
Draft - pours hazy orange with white head and great lacing. Nose is pine and citrus. Flavor adds caramel and grape fruit. Dry and bitter. A torpedo on roids. Hidden sweetness. Nice.

22oz bottle. Golden color. Thin white head. Tastes of tart wheat, pale grains, and loads of resiny hops. Very strong. Sweet aroma, loads of hops. Very floral, with pine. Not as good as the Black, better than the Belgian. (3469)

Drake (13654) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 24, 2012
Bomber shared by Butters at the 18th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering. Pours a clear blonde color with a thin frothy white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of bread, sweet malts, nuts, herbal and floral hops. The taste is wheat, citrus, bitter resin hops. Medium bodied.

Cabbage nose. Clear amber, medium yellow head. Flavor is cloying butterscotch. As a fan of wheat beers and IPAs, I was excited to try this, but it didn’t live up to my expectations.

Butters (4059) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - JUN 23, 2012
Sampled at the at 18th Richmond gathering. Side by side with the belgian and the black. My least favorite of the three. Sweet and not that hoppy. The wheat seems to have overpowered the hops. A little hay, and lingering bitterness on the tail.

Bottle @ 18th RG. Yellow gold with white dissipating head and decent lacing. Smells like daisies light. Sweet then lightly bitter. Sweet finish.

PorterPounder (7896) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAR 29, 2012
Tallahassee, FL - Momo’s Pizza - on tap. Sturdy pillowy white head on top of a medium copper pour, nice lacing. Fragrant, fresh aroma with some spearmint hints, flowers, and pine. Juicy flavor with a front forward assault of grapefruty bitterness, sweet, sticky maple syrup notes, some nectarines, bananas, and a touch of mint in. Good, thick sticky mouthfeel. Pretty solid - not a hop-bomb
