I’ve had smoked porters and stouts (some actually smoked, some with disgusting smokey additives), but never ran into a smoked lager before. It was quite good, the smoke and sweet malts mixed well, it didn’t taste or smell like an ashtray. Surprisingly good, a shame it is like an hour drive to the place I got it.
(Draught) Pours a clear copper body with a medium off-white head. Aroma of caramel, grain, and light smoke. Flavor of smoke, grain, light toffee, and earthiness. alexsdad06 (10471) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - MAR 2, 2015
Bottle at home from notes. Pours a clear amber copper color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have a mild to moderate smoked character, caramel, some earthy notes, wood, hints of fruit, apple, cherry, body is lighter, overall, just ok. slowrunner77 (12133) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 30, 2014
"a little lighter on the smoke than i was hoping for. a pleasant enough brew that shows a little fruit and carmel in the nose and flavor. medium bodied. subtle. jcnielsen (3412) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - MAY 28, 2014

Nice dark amber color. Small amount of head. Smells of dark smokey malts. Leaves a dry feeling on the tongue.

This was a better beer than I had imagined. Pours a crystal clear amber. Very slight aroma of smoke but mostly caramel and malt. Flavor has more smoke but it isn't overpowering. Not a fan of the style but this is probably the best one I've ever had. Medium bodied. Very nice beer. BMan1113VR (7931) - Los Angeles, California, USA - SEP 16, 2013
GABF week 2012. On tap at the brewery. Pours with a clear orange hue with a lasting off-white head. Aromas are malty, bready, honey, light smoke, toasty, nutty and dried fruit. Flavors are smokey, nutty, maple, molasses. Fuller bodied with medium carbonation. tmongoose (2504) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - SEP 3, 2013
12oz bottle pours a cloudy amber color with off white head. plenty of carbonation and floaters. minimal lacing so far. strange aroma of caramel and smoke. almost a semi sweet smell. flavor is well...caramelly sweet smoke. almost a medium bodied lager but this is not a good smoked beer. Bottle. Pours red with a small head. Aroma has malts and caramel, kinda boozy. Nice, smoky and sweet flavor, malty overall. Little chocolatey at the end. Pretty decent. 4.5% alcohol. SDalkoholic (2395) - Linda Vista, California, USA - JUL 20, 2013
Bottle from BevMo: Poured a dark natural golden honey color that appeared as a burnt amber hue while only a thin layer of head graced the top of my beer. The aroma was full bodied with a rich base of caramel malts that really gives off a scent of smokiness. The flavor is pure rauch with a thick taste of smoked malts that makes this beers one the better rauch or amber style beers I’ve come across.
